To make the top true Couture, it was assembled in cotton terry molleton, cut, sewn, stonewashed, and faded entirely by hand. Its total assembly time is about 140 hours. A true testament to the Maison’s craftsmanship. For a piece to be considered Haute Couture, it must be 100% handmade, without any sewing machines, and require hundreds of hours of meticulous work. What you see in well-known luxury stores are Prêt-à-Porter pieces, which means 'ready to wear'. They’re produced on a larger scale and are more accessible. Haute Couture, on the other hand, is for an extremely exclusive audience and must be made within the golden triangle of Paris.
