Experts are predicting an 85% chance for an above-average hurricane season in Florida this year, not to mention other powerful storms like tornadoes, thunderstorms, and floods posing a major threat as well. But while we can't stop Mother Nature, we can certainly be prepared for her. 🌀☂ At LANGD, keeping our communities safe and infrastructure resilient is of the utmost priority. Here are a few tips to help you get prepared: 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 Before the storms hit, clear debris from around your home and trim trees and shrubs. This simple step helps prevent damage and injuries during severe weather. 𝗕𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 If fallen trees damage your yard, remember to call 8-1-1 before digging to remove roots. This free service locates and marks underground utilities like natural gas pipes that might be hidden near tree roots. Calling two days ahead gives them time to mark the area safely for digging. But in the end, one of the most important things you can do to prepare for Hurricane season is learn how to make the switch to reliable #NaturalGas so your power stays on, even during the harshest of storms. 🌩 Contact us to learn how you can #MakeTheSwitch today: 📞 (407) 656-2734 x 307 ✉ marketing@langd.org

Acrisure Re is actively monitoring the developments of Hurricane Helene and has released a detailed commentary, summarized below. Helene has intensified to Category 2 overnight and continues to strengthen as it moves north-northeast towards Florida's Big Bend. Favorable conditions, including warm sea surface temperatures, low wind shear, and strong upper-level dynamics, support further intensification today. Helene is expected to make landfall tonight or early Friday as a Category 3 hurricane, with potential for even greater strength. Due to its large size, widespread impacts are anticipated far from the storm’s center, with damaging winds, life-threatening storm surges, and heavy rainfall. The storm’s unusually fast speed for its magnitude means inland regions, including the southern Appalachian Mountains, could experience significant effects, such as hurricane-force wind gusts and extreme rainfall.
