It's essential to ask engaging questions that stimulate children's thinking and conversations. These questions help us understand what children are figuring out and allow them to express and develop their ideas. By asking thoughtful questions, we foster a deeper understanding and encourage continuous learning. Here are five engaging questions from PBSKIDS that can help early childcare providers and parents encourage children to think and talk about their experiences as they explore. https://buff.ly/2MdeRpn #EarlyChildhoodEducation #ChildDevelopment #EarlyLearning

RILSA has published a new study entitled Children in parental conflict II. 📙 The study, conducted by the family policy team, focuses on comparing cases in which children are in the primary care of one parent following the separation of the parents and those in which both parents provide care more or less equally. What were the findings of the study? 🟠Almost a third of parents were able to agree in a calm way on the details of childcare. 🟠Every tenth couple experiences major conflicts. 🟠If one of the parents takes primary care of the child following a breakup, it is usually the mother. The study can be accessed in full at 👉 https://lnkd.in/e_3cbtRW

Mothers and fathers play an important role in shaping their children’s health and development. Although mothers are still disproportionately responsible for childcare, Australian fathers are now spending more time with their children compared to previous generations. Like mothers, fathers and non-birthing parents can influence the mental health and wellbeing of their children through their approach to parenting and the behaviours they demonstrate when interacting with their child. Developed by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS), this suite of resources provides insights into how practitioners and services can support fathers to engage positively with their children, including warmth and responsiveness, and play. https://bit.ly/3V0Mzmv
