SVSN – Staffordshire Veterans Support Network
Launch Event – 4th April 2024
Time – 13:00 – 16:00
Venue – Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Festival Park, Commerce House, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 5BE
Who should attend:
The SVSN has been formed to provide the Veteran community in the Staffordshire area with a platform that
offers the essential support and guidance for our valued veterans, reservists and their families.
Our aim, and main priority as a support network is to aid Staffordshire veterans and reservists with the
Transition from military service into civilian life and employment.
What is a Veteran?
A VETERAN IS NOT DEFINED BY AGE
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) defines a veteran as:
“anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve), or
Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations.” Under the definition,
veterans have already left the Armed Forces.
The benefits of attending:
Key employers of Veterans will have a short presentation on what they have to offer and the key benefits of employing Veterans and will be available to discuss further throughout the afternoon.
There will also be many various organisations available to discuss both general and personal questions/situations and how the SVSN can help wherever possible.
We will be providing the opportunity to network and access numerous organisations who can help an advise on, but not limited to the following:
⭐Employers/Employment
⭐Training & Development
⭐Armed Forces Pensions Compensation/⭐Mis-selling
⭐Wellbeing & Mental Support
⭐Military Hearing & Injury Claims
⭐Charitable Organisations
