Finding a moment for yourself in the middle of a busy work day isn't always easy. That's why we're making an extra effort this #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek to get moving more for our mental health by finding 'moments for movement' every day. Finding those kinds of moments doesn't have to be an 'all or nothing' thing either! Something as simple as waiting for the kettle to boil; for your kids to come out of school; or for a bus to arrive - little moments like these can all add up to something big! We'll be posting our own activities and ideas throughout the week, but in the meantime you can get more tips from the Mental Health Foundation: https://lnkd.in/eWQ2QGeQ

May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and raising awareness about mental health is crucial. Here are some quick tips that have helped me over the years. 🌻Be Kind to Yourself. It's easy to get frustrated and overthink - whether it's at work or home, give yourself some slack, try again, and remember, no one is perfect. 🌻Stay Connected. Reach out to friends, family, or a support group. Connection with others can provide valuable emotional support. My family and friends have been a lifeline for me when I have faced difficult times. 🌻Prioritize Self-Care. Take time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation. I enjoy hiking and getting out in nature. It does a body...and mind good. 🌻Stay Active. Physical activity has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health. Find activities you enjoy and make them a regular part of your routine. I work out 5 days a week and it's been a great way to get my day off on the right track.

Open up, reach out! Sharing your feelings can be tough, especially if you’re someone who prefers to keep things bottled up. But holding onto emotions can lead to increased stress, anxiety and even harm your overall mental health. Talking things through with family, friends or a trusted confidant can provide invaluable emotional support. A strong support network is essential for navigating life’s challenges. Remember, taking care of your mental well-being is just as important as physical health. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, prioritise self-care and don’t hesitate to seek professional help if needed.
