Bonus tip! Come prepared with thoughtful questions for the interviewer; questions that aren’t "Googleable". Start it off with what you know about the firm and position to show you’ve done your research. Remember to frame your question in a curious, not cautious way. Examples: Cautious: Why did the last person not work out? Curious: I’m eager to hit the ground running; what hard/soft skills have proved to be successful in this seat and what were the pain points? What attributes do employees with the longest tenure have? Cautious: What is the company culture like? Curious: From what I’ve seen, there is an emphasis on building an entrepreneurial workplace. How would you describe the working dynamic on the team? How have things evolved since you’ve joined?

When you’re preparing for an interview, you’ll be thinking about what questions you might get asked and how you can answer If you google it or if you’re already familiar with it you’ll probably be using the STAR framework (situation, task, action, result) It’s simple and it works. When you use it properly But what we see way too often is candidates spend too long outlining the situation and task, then they start to run out of steam. Maybe feel a bit awkward that they’ve been talking for a while already They rush through the actions and the ending is all too often along the lines of ‘aaaaaannnnnnd it all worked out brilliantly…’ It’s a missed opportunity for you to demonstrate the tangible impact you had, and to get the hiring manager imagining you delivering the same for them So when you’re prepping, make sure you keep your explanation of the situation and task brief and succinct. Just give enough context to create the understanding they need And focus the bulk of your answer on the actions you took, how you determined they were the right ones, and the impact they had #JobSearch #InterviewTips

I’ve had a bunch of interview prep calls this week, and I’m thrilled to hear that every candidate found them useful. Remember, the better you perform, the better your chances of landing that dream role (and a great package too!). For those moving forward to the next stage—don’t stop now! Here's how to make the next round a piece of cake: 🔍 Look back: Reflect on your first interview—what went well and where you can improve. 📚 Research deeper: Get to know the company inside and out—understand their culture and the challenges they’re facing. 💬 Prep for behavioral questions: Use the STAR method to tackle those tricky situational questions. ❓ Ask thoughtful questions: Show genuine interest with smart questions about the role and company. 🎯 Practice makes perfect: Rehearse your answers out loud to boost confidence and nail the interview. An easy interview question can sometimes be the most difficult one. "Why do you want to work here?" is one of those easy but difficult questions. Most people will reply: ⇢ "Because I want to make a positive impact." ⇢ "I love your mission and culture." There's nothing wrong with these answers, except they're not convincing or memorable. The next time, try this one to stand out: #hiringandpromotion
