This is Scope 3 emissions reporting in action... Lang O'Rourke has set emissions limits on its concrete. Perhaps (finally) we will see #greencrete get a foothold in the Australian #builtenvironment. I like that they've made their carbon limits public too, for example 50MPa concrete can have no more tha 300kgCO2 per sq metre. Now I would just like to see all the WA government agencies requiring the same as part of their tendering processes, or at least giving tenderers with these types of requirements "bonus points" in their assessments to award contracts. #scope3 Laing O'Rourke sets carbon limits for Australian procured concrete | Laing O’Rourke (https://lnkd.in/gNCpjY2e)

#GSTUPDATE #GSTLAW #GST #WORKCONTRACT #WCT #GSTPROVISIONS Works Contract as a Special Category: Construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects, hospitality industry, etc., fall under the category of “works contract” defined in Section 2(119) of the CGST Act. Since these are related to immovable property, the place of supply is determined by the physical location of the property, not the funding source or the recipient’s registered location.

While I appreciate the enthusiasm and keeping the north alignment of the LRT in the public mind, this is in the "we have bigger fish to fry" domain at the moment. The province is firmly in the driver's seat and their prime objective is to make most efficient use of taxpayer dollars and extend the Green Line as far south as possible to maximize ridership. The north LRT, which has a business case, is second fiddle for the foreseeable future. https://lnkd.in/g--KuMk4

Exciting changes to the Metropolitan Region Scheme announced by John Carey MLA to bring it into a modern context! The Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) is a high level planning document that has provided broader regional zoning overlays for decades, but in recent times, has shown it’s age, and certainly needed modernising. The dual approval requirement for land within the MRS, to obtain both region scheme, and local planning scheme approval on some projects has led to frustrations and delay for obtaining and reaching all approvals milestones. The ability to modernise the region scheme, bringing it in line with other contemporary region schemes in operation, and provide greater land use coordination and guidance for special control areas is also an added benefit to bringing infill to the Perth metropolitan area. Individual sites have their own zoning particulars, to which particular care and attention ought to be paid to understanding how these changes apply to your site.
