Meet Rudy Nieman, a Maintenance Supervisor at our Spencer, Wisconsin, facility. Rudy is a member of our LOL VETS ERG and a Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserves. Rudy won the Drill Sergeant of the year for the 95th Division this year. Congratulations and thank you for your service, Rudy! "As the 95th Division Drill Sergeant of the year, I represented the Drill Sergeants of the division at the 74th annual 95th Division Legacy Association Reunion. This reunion is held as a formal way to reunite veterans who have served in the famed division and their families. In attendance were multiple retired General Officers, family members of WWII veterans, and two #WWII veterans. The reunion lasted 3 days consisting of visiting the 95th Division Memorial at the Army Reserves Center on Fort Sill, a formal banquet, and a memorial service for all WWII veterans who have passed. After the formal banquet I was blessed to exchange conversations with the veterans of WWII. After discussing battle stories and veteran lingo, conversations quickly led to our civilian employment. My crowd grew listening to my stories of working with Land O'Lakes, Inc. As we talked a crowd member jumped up and retrieved the butter we had previously used “Exclaiming you guys make fantastic butter!” I sadly had to let them down by stating the facility I work at doesn’t make butter but cheese. This was followed by “Of course you make cheese in Wisconsin instead of butter.” You will see in the pictures two fine gentlemen who were among the brave souls to capture Metz, France. Overall, a tremendous 'Once in a lifetime' experience! Until next time, THIS WE’LL DEFEND!" #employeeexperience #landolakes #vets #militaryveterans #veterans

Founding Veteran Hiring Solutions was the natural growth path for me. After 18 years of building successful veteran recruiting programs. It was time to bring my process to the masses. Below is a brief overview of our process: 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 bring the human to the forefront of the interview process. Stops education or experience bias from entering the interview process. Veterans do not follow traditional education and experience paths that are required in most corporate job descriptions. 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 was the nature evolution from performance-based job descriptions using only text. We bring the hiring manager on-camera to inform the veteran job seeker of the Commander's Intent of the role. What does right look like in the role?! This also helps the veteran become comfortable with the hiring manager. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫! 𝐁𝐌𝐚𝐱 uses the job description and veteran resume to conduct a specific mock interview, with feedback, to help the veteran train to win the interview! Being veterans ourselves, we understand the transition challenges do not stop once you find your first civilian job. We continu𝐞 follow up through video and Bot. 𝐋.𝐂. (𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐚-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞) 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐭. It will help you understand how to effectively communication in corporate America. It is your safe space to ask questions. Please reach out to us to learn more. We are bringing humanity back to hiring! #VeteranHiring #VeteranJobs #VeteransHelpingVeterans #VeteranHiring

The Coastal Empire is home to important Army installations, including U.S. Army Garrison Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield. Down here, we are a heavy military community, both active duty and veteran. Veterans are not only going to be a key part of the growing labor talent needs in the region, but there are several prominent examples of founder/CEOs who have built multi-million dollar corporations. Buck Holly shared some insights on why that is for C&H Precision and others on Good Morning, Market this week. https://lnkd.in/e9UxrdZC Why do you believe many veterans thrive as entrepreneurs? Is this the exception or the rule? I'll say that there are some really strong veteran-founded companies in my home community. #veteranbusiness #veteranowned #smallbusinesspodcast #scaleyourbusiness

Happy Saturday . Smile 😊 I have seen a lot of posts about “ Corporate world and military world is different “ . How ? My opinion is my own : Is not different, we as veterans choose to be that way. We live in the past , we only hang out with veterans, and for everything we blame the corporate side or the military side. “ how broke we are , how this and that “ You left the military for a reason , is the past and a closed chapter. Stop living in the past and move on. If you have VA benefits , go see VA and get help , if you have civilian insurance go see civ Doc. Yes civilians will welcome you with open arms . They will support you . At the same time, work harder than everyone , do more than every one , smile , respect everyone , be humble, and you will be just fine. Is no different in the military , rank is earned ( the ones that have earned it ) , and respect is earned . Move on. You are in the civilian side or what ever we want to call it. I attended an event that made me think. The Veteran had more support from the civilians than his own community. This is the hard truth. Let me know what you think ? #military #veteranshelpingveterans #houstontexas #life #militaryveterans #transitioningmilitary #transitioning #militarylife #fourblock #vets2industry #nextop

Really interesting 5 minutes there. Listening to this it occurs to me that there is so much to be learned from the experiences and successes of the military reserve services by other volunteer centred national service provision organisations like the RNLI, NHS responders, Retained and volunteer Fire and Rescue, local resilience volunteers, Coastguard, and close to my heart, Police Special Constables. Likewise all these bodies and groups have their own successes and learnings that could well benefit others. There is talk of the world entering a pre war era of increased instability, of a public struggling with its mental health and sense of self worth, of the lack of funds available for supporting the fabric of society, that makes me think that perhaps now is a time to move the experience of volunteering and professional parallel employment and take these to another level and lessen risks posed by future conflicts by increasing the sense of purpose and resilience of our population personally and society generally. A multidisciplinary leadership group with representatives across different sectors, including government, military, third sector, healthcare and private sector, would allow all to improve both their own offerings and the services they deliver in the short term and look strategically contribute to a more robust nation. Thoughts anyone?

Did you know that Jeeps have a fascinating history? One interesting fact about our beloved Jeep is despite the widely held belief that Jeeps were named such because the U.S. Army referred to them as "Government Purpose" or "General Purpose" vehicles (G.P.), the term "jeep" was in use by Army personnel as early as 1914, long before the Jeep as we know it was put into service during World War II. #JeepHistory #FunFact Please share if you like this and let our team know where we can help find the best talent for your organization OR help you with your professional transition.

THIS. Quality of life (especially after military service) is worth what's worth to the individual. To some, it's worth $100k+++, to others, not so much. Both answers are right. There is always ways to make $100K++ on the outside of a military career. The question is - "What am I willing to sacrifice to get X salary?" Sometimes it is very little - an overnight trip once and a while. Maybe longer hours. If someone wants to make $160+ as a management consultant in year one - it is possible. But you'll be working your ass off - 60, 70, 80 hours per week. You'll become a super platinum double diamond member of every travel perk and know the best restaurants. But.... How much is being home for birthdays, holidays and other life events worth? Only you know the answer.

I was talking with a group of veterans, when "salary" came up. A former Army specialist was earning $185K a year. A former Air Force staff sergeant was earning $325K a year. 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚! A former Army captain was earning $165K a year. A former Army colonel was earning over $200K a year. A former Army sergeant major was earning $65K a year. 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 A few others weren't yet working (still figuring it out--that's OK). But, the $325K and $65K incomes were the most discussed. The former Air Force staff sergeant was a biomedical equipment technician and recruiter that got into medical device sales. And with on-target earnings (OTE), he's earning over $300K a year. He's young, energetic, and plans to start a family in the next 5 years The former Army sergeant major is a project coordinator. He's prioritizing his wife and granddaughter. Look-- Post-military earnings are all about personal priorities. Not rank. #QuickNote #MilitaryTransition #Military #Veterans #Careers

What's the "Veteran Perspective?" When I separated from active duty, there was one thing that shocked me about the civilian world: It was how easy everything seemed. The Army took me to my mental and physical breaking point. I can tell you the exact place, date, and time that my mind and body broke... Stopped working. I will forever treasure that experience, even though it was devastating at the time. And here’s the amazing part - I haven’t come anywhere close to that out here in the civilian world. Serving in the military was like someone gave me a big, red "easy" button to use for the rest of my life. Combat veterans or noncombat, it doesn't matter: There are simply things you do in the military that are orders of magnitude more difficult than anything I've yet encountered out here in the "real" world. The Air Force commissioned a study from the Rand Corporation to advise them on how to develop stress inoculation training for battlefield airmen. Why does the military want to stress out young Airmen? Because they want our performance to INCREASE under stress, not decrease. And then veterans take this trait with them when they leave the military. So, what you have is a bunch of American veterans who perform extraordinarily well under stress. I don't presume to speak for all veterans, but I think it's a feeling that most veterans share. #hireveterans *I'm top row, second from the right. One of only two people in my squad smart enough to wear goggles. Gotta protect those baby blues. 😂

Retired Brigadier General E John Teichert, Brigadier General (ret), a formidable candidate for the U.S. Senate, recently launched the groundbreaking 'Veterans for Teichert' coalition, marking the first of its kind in the campaign cycle. Comprising two dozen dedicated veterans who have served in the U.S. Military, this coalition embodies a fervent call for a genuine leader in Washington—one who comprehends their service, sacrifice, and concerns in the face of perceived weaknesses abroad and ineffectiveness at home. The coalition, led by the esteemed Dale Hall, Chairman of Veterans for Teichert, staunchly believes that General Teichert is the champion these veterans have long awaited. Hall, drawing from his experiences in the United States Marine Corps , emphasizes the need for strong, selfless leadership, noting that Teichert's energy, passion, and integrity left an indelible impression. This Veterans Coalition is not merely a campaign endeavor but a burgeoning movement, a collective force of servicemen and women joining with General Teichert to usher in a new era of leadership and integrity, challenging the status quo in Washington. In a recent coalition roundtable, Teichert engaged with veterans both in person and online, addressing the paramount issues that resonate with them as they head into the pivotal year of 2024. As support for Teichert's candidacy surges, he remains resolute in his commitment to representing the interests and issues of Marylanders, steadfastly advancing his compelling message of leadership over politics—a beacon of hope and change for a brighter future in the hallowed halls of the U.S. Senate. #boom #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #breakbarriers #challengesconvention #igniteinnovation #innovateandelevate #senate https://lnkd.in/eyVAJD-T
