Assuming you've never used Soothe2, what do you think it does to sound?
Let's set aside ideas of it being a meditative music generator or a magic source of ambient white noise.
What’s your take on this audio plugin?
I posed this question to many users and myself and decided to dive deeper into the background of the Oeksound brand and its entire product line. Guess what I discovered?
To grasp the philosophy and primary mission of this remarkable product, watch this video.
Get used to it—I'll be posting more like this to connect with other designers, producers, and many other talented creatives globally, aiming to build a unique community of audio software designers and developers.
This plugin is truly unique, but can you say the same about its design?
Let’s discuss it in the comments.
But first, get comfortable and immerse yourself in the world of Scandinavian design, Bauhaus, Minimalism, and discover how these influence sound processing.

I used to rely too much on visuals while mixing.
Beginner's mistake, I know...
As amazing tech and plugins are now, it does not change anything to the craft of mixing.
It is not visuals.
It’s listening.
Our ears are the key to the best mix.
Modern mixing tools are useful when used correctly.
Some I use all the time:
- LUFS radar >> Provide clues about dynamic change between sections
- VU Meter >> Gain Stage a session in 3min or less
- Soundflow >> Session Prep & Load my fav plugins at the press of a button.
That’s it.
Mixing is all about what you hear.
🚀 Innovating Audio Production: How Metagrid Pro Elevates PlugSearch for Logic Pro
In the world of audio production, efficiency is as crucial as creativity. Today, I want to share how you can streamline your workflow in Logic Pro, thanks to MetaGrid Pro and PlugSearch (which just got a fantastic update with tons of new features and improvements - big congratulations to Rinus Aarts).
🎚 The Challenge:
Logic Pro users know the program lacks a quick, seamless way to search and add plugins using keyboard shortcuts. This gap can interrupt the creative flow, especially when inspiration strikes and speed is of the essence.
🔍 The Game Changer: PlugSearch:
PlugSearch emerged as a dedicated tool addressing this very need—it allows users to search and insert plugins in Logic Pro directly through a streamlined interface. However, integrating this efficiently into a typical production setup remained a challenge.
📱 Enter Metagrid Pro:
That’s where Metagrid Pro comes into play. As a versatile control surface app for iPad, MetaGrid Pro brings the power of PlugSearch right to your fingertips. We have created a custom grid that controls PlugSearch directly from the iPad. This setup not only utilizes the tactile advantages of the iPad but also significantly reduces the time and effort involved in managing plugins.
🎼 The Implementation:
With a simple touch on the iPad, producers can now invoke PlugSearch to quickly locate and insert any plugin into Logic Pro. This integration has effectively streamlined the creative process, allowing users to stay in their creative flow without disruption. It’s a perfect blend of speed, efficiency, and innovation.
💡 Why It Matters:
In an industry where time is music, tools like MetaGrid Pro and PlugSearch are not just enhancing workflows—they are transforming the creative landscape, enabling artists to achieve their vision faster and more seamlessly than ever before.
Join us in embracing the future of audio production. Let’s make music better, together.

Deploying audio plug-ins is challenging for multiple reasons. One of those is the variety of target platforms. Beyond making your plug-in run on Windows and Mac, the binaries should be shipped as different formats, including at least VST3, AU and AAX. They should also be tested to run properly in popular DAW's such as Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton and many more. The ability to quickly develop, test and deploy is non negotiable. A continuous intergation and deployment (CI/CD) pipeline plays an important part here, but setting up one can be a difficult and time consuming.

Global web application performance: It's not just about you
When developing a global web application, it's important to keep in mind that not everyone has fast internet or a MacBook.
It's easy to forget this when we're developing in a good environment, but it's essential to test our applications on the slowest devices and networks possible.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when developing for global performance:
1️⃣ Optimize your code and images. This means minifying and compressing your code and images as much as possible.
2️⃣ Use a content delivery network (CDN). A CDN will deliver your static content from servers that are located closer to your users, which can significantly improve performance.
3️⃣ Implement caching. Caching can store frequently accessed data in memory, which can reduce the number of database queries and improve performance.
4️⃣ Test your application on a variety of devices and networks. This will help you to identify and fix any performance issues early on.
At audio.com, we are committed to providing a fast and reliable user experience for all of our users, regardless of their location or device.
We follow the best practices above, and we also use performance monitoring tools to track our performance and identify any areas for improvement.
Care about your users by developing for global performance.

Sometimes things just don't fit right. Like airplane seats, or those "Italian leather" loafers that were priced just a little too low. And contribution audio - sometimes it's a smidge too long, or too short. Good thing there's #Minnetonka#AudioTools Server. Just use the Frame Rate Toolbox module to whip those wayward audio files into line - automatically, of course.
Daily UI 009
An audio mode for the Blinkist desktop experience, with a toggle between 'read' and 'listen' modes. Also expandable chapter view for Blinks
