In 1969, Landscape Architecture Magazine explored the pros and cons of the snowmobile boom. From new recreational opportunities to environmental challenges, the rise of these machines brought both excitement and concern. Photo Captions: 1. THE CROW SCULPTURAL FOUNTAIN - Preliminary concept As many of you know, I´ve always liked to use this space to share original concepts that merge several disciplines, such as urban scale sculpture, landscape architecture and water features design. From my point of view, combining all these three is a fantastic opportunity to create unique landscapes and placemaking that enhance the quality of life and generate economic development. Like today's project, a tribute to the local bird species, the crow, to highlight the place's identity and ecology. #fountaindesign #urbandevelopment #sustainability #placemaking #waterfeatures #urbanbeautification #publicart #betterworld #urbanplanning #smartcities #sustainabledesign #experience #publicspace #urbandesign #urbanism #landscaping #landscapearchitecture #oase #oaselivingwater #livingwater

The Fish That Walk on Land Meet the mudskipper! These fascinating creatures can “walk” on land using their strong pectoral fins and even breathe through their skin and mouth lining when out of the water. Mudskippers thrive in brackish water environments, like mangroves and tidal flats. But don’t worry, creating the perfect habitat for them in an aquarium is my specialty. These setups require a balance of shallow water, muddy substrate, and plenty of land for them to explore. Mudskippers are also quite territorial and love building mud burrows! This type of setup is perfect for architects to incorporate into schools or other public projects, creating educational displays that showcase nature’s incredible adaptations. With the right design, your space can truly stand out with a living, interactive habitat like this! Interested in how a mudskipper aquarium could fit into your next project? Let’s talk! #CustomAquariums #AquariumDesign #ArchitecturalInnovation #LuxuryAquariums #SchoolProjects

Biophilic design has been found to support cognitive function, physical health, and psychological well-being. Simple.
Urban trees have the power to cool down our cities during heatwaves. Here’s how it works: If you go outside during a heatwave, you’ll notice a big difference in temperature between streets that have tree cover, and bare pavements that are exposed to the sun. That’s because trees provide shade and bring moisture back into the air, cooling their surroundings. In fact, studies show that tree cover in cities can cool down air temperature by up to 8°C and land temperature by up to 12°C. With urban areas around the world experiencing record-breaking temperatures, we must look at trees as a natural solution to mitigate the impact of heatwaves. • #architecture #climate #environment #tree #nature #photography
