Author | Researcher | Founder Westerlund Consulting, LLC Educational Consultant | Systemic Functional Linguistics
This was the first thing I did when I started at CESA 2. At that time, not many educators were talking about the WIDA Standards, but Elizabeth Folberg was (even before they came out as part of our research project on using Systemic Functional Linguistics to defragment literacy). I'm reposting because now more teachers are asking questions about the standards as a tool for accelerating language development, not just providing visual supports and sentence frames. Take a listen and let's discuss what remaining questions you have after you listen. https://lnkd.in/gqjCA4GU

Do you ever feel that constant nudge reminding you to learn your target language? It's like that feeling of needing to eat! If you genuinely enjoy cooking, you'll naturally make time for it every day. The same goes for language learning. When you find a way to make it enjoyable and see it as a necessity, consistency becomes easier. Of course, life gets busy, and there will be days you miss your language practice. But that nagging feeling, that internal "I need to get back to it" voice, is a good sign. It means language learning holds importance for you. Embrace that feeling and find ways to make language learning a regular part of your day, even if it's just a short practice session. #dailyhabits #languagelearning #consistency #studytips
