Top tips for travelling and working. Routine, routine, routine I didn’t realise until we scrapped our jam packed travel itinerary how important routine is for being productive whilst travelling and working. At the end of December I left for Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia with a view to visiting numerous places while working. The reality of the situation was very different, the lack of structure of not knowing where you will be staying, how you will be travelling and what to do when you get there blocks out the opportunities to stay focused on work. Such that we quickly binned many places. Therefore, if you intend on travelling and working my advice to give your mind the capacity to keep focusing on work as well as being present/enjoying the place you are in is; Stay in places for longer Find a local gym or get out running Stay in room that has access to larger open spaces ( budget dependent) I’m now in the last week of travelling and staying in Uluwatu, Bali Indonesia. We have found this place which is beautiful, close to all amenities and overlooks the southwest peninsula. Looking forward to catching up with contacts in 2024 #itsjustthebeginning #corporatefinance #businessgrowth

🌴 Revisiting Bali's Diverse Appeal: Beyond the Beach Clubs 🌴 In 2018, my journey through Bali's top 20 beach clubs offered a unique lens into the island's burgeoning tourism and economic potential. Yet, beyond these vibrant establishments lies the "other" Bali—a place of unparalleled natural beauty, rich culture, and a spirit that resonates with anyone who experiences it. The accompanying video captures this essence beautifully, showcasing Bali's verdant landscapes, tranquil temples, and the vibrant life that pulses through its streets and markets. 🏖 While beach clubs like Potato Head in Seminyak and the architecturally magnificent Omnia Dayclub in Uluwatu (now named Savaya Bali) have marked their place on the island, Bali's heart beats in its rice terraces, its temples, and its people. This video takes us on a journey through these less explored but equally captivating aspects of Bali, reminding us of the diverse appeal that has made the island a global tourism magnet. 🎉 Reflecting on my past exploration of the economics of Bali’s beach clubs, it's evident that the allure of Bali for investors and developers extends beyond its beach clubs. The rich tapestry of experiences that Bali offers provides a broader canvas for investment in hospitality and tourism ventures. The evolution of these sectors, amidst the changing dynamics of the global and local scenes, emphasizes the need for thoughtful, sustainable approaches that honor Bali's unique heritage and natural beauty. 🌴 As we consider future opportunities in Bali, let this video inspire us to think beyond conventional boundaries. The lessons learned from the island's beach club scene, combined with the deeper cultural and environmental insights captured in this visual journey, underline the multifaceted potential that awaits. For those ready to explore the next chapter of investment in Bali, let's draw upon the comprehensive insights from its beach clubs and the broader essence captured in this video. Together, we can envision and develop ventures that resonate with Bali's unique spirit and contribute to its sustainable future. 😅 "Hey, you're the one working from Thailand!" My student says to me. ☀ Yes, from Bali this year too. How's that? 🌴 Working Remotely from Bali 🌴 🏝️ Location: Bali, Indonesia 🌞 Weather: Sunny and warm, even in rainy season, perfect for outdoor work 🌊 Beach Vibes: to find the "white" sand beaches requires a bit of travel, but nothing that isn't reachable by GRAB (local Uber) 🏖️ 🌐 WiFi: Surprisingly reliable! 📶 🍚 Lunch Breaks: Rice, vegetables and meat in many ways from local warungs 🌺 Inspiration: Balinese temples and lush greenery 🌿 And now, let’s compare it with working from Thailand: 🇹🇭 Thailand vs. Bali 🇮🇩 🏙️ Thailand: In the south bustling cities, vibrant nightlife, and modern amenities 🌆 🍃 The north is much quieter, but even so, religious rituals and culture do not permeate life here as they do in Bali. 🏞️ Bali: Tranquil beaches, spiritual retreats, and a slower pace of life 🧘♂️ 💸 Cost of Living: Both affordable, but Bali edges out slightly 📉 🌐 Internet coverage via local e-sim: Bali claims decent speeds, but Thailand’s got the edge 🚀 🌴 Overall: Can’t go wrong with either, depends of your preferences🌅 ⭕ Do you have any other experience? Where did you work from? Leave a comment so we can pass on the best tips! #RemoteWork #BaliVsThailand #coaching #online

Understanding and respecting local customs is your first step to fitting in. Step 2: Sort out your visa. My last day in Bali has me feeling reflective. People often say I'm lucky to work and travel, but the truth is, this is the life I've intentionally built over the past 5 years. Purposeful, focused work – that's my secret. Sure, some call it the "trader's life," but I'm just grinding like anyone else. There's no magic, just consistent effort. Bali isn't just about beaches for me. Southeast Asia shifts my mindset. I've been spending 4-5 hours first thing in the morning on me, then work. DRASTIC difference. This trip has taught me: 1. To question the need for constant hustle. 2. The value of continuous learning (even for those with experience). 3. The importance of stepping outside my comfort zone. 4. Fresh inspiration for my work. 5. Appreciation for the simple joys. How do YOU build the life you want? Let's share our journeys! #workandtravel #mindset #lifedesign #personalgrowth

Tips on Moving to Bali As a former visitor turned resident, I can assure you that Bali offers more than breathtaking sunsets and pristine beaches. This captivating island beckons with a surprising affordability for the business-minded individual. Numbeo reports that Bali's cost of living is a staggering 54% lower compared to Western countries. Let's explore the specifics: securing decent accommodation in desirable areas starts at just $500 USD per month. Those seeking luxury can indulge in a private pool villa for just a couple thousand more. And the food scene is simply delightful! A fantastic restaurant meal for two costs around $50 USD only. Don't be surprised by traffic congestion, especially in tourist areas, but a scooter can provide a fun (and potentially time-saving) way to navigate smaller roads, as long as you prioritize safety with a helmet and proper licensing. If Bali is calling to you (whether for a move or initial market exploration), a few key considerations are essential. First and foremost, obtaining the appropriate visa is crucial. Indonesian regulations concerning entry and residency permits are dynamic, adapting to national needs and global trends. For instance, working in Indonesia requires a specific visa. Consider researching KITAS or ITAS (Stay Permit with Temporary Work Permit). For a hassle-free process, partnering with visa experts like my team at @BaliBusinessConsulting is highly recommended. Secondly, collaborating with a local sponsor can significantly streamline business setup in Bali. While the process is becoming more efficient, navigating local regulations still requires expertise. Take the right step – consult us first! #Bali #BaliBusiness #BaliBusinessConsulting #ExploreBali

Fifth and final week in Bali (Ungasan) 🇮🇩 😢 1. Here, tourists and locals play in parallel universes. We bought a handbag for 7 euros, while our babysitter snagged the same for 1.50 euros in a local market. Or when you go to some attractions, you will note different prices for locals and foreigners. The same is true for other services that cost tourists three or four times more. 🤑 2. Despite Bali being a hotbed for expats and digital nomads, I didn't note some digital or tech educational hubs or local offers. People rely on online courses, traditional universities, and good old self-study. 📚 3. Balinese aren't just about surf and sunsets. They work hard, often on weekends. Need to replace a water pump on a Sunday within an hour? Consider it done and with a big smile on their face! 🧑🏭⚒ 4. In some tourist areas, Uber-like services face stiff competition from local taxis. It's not unusual to wait an hour for a Grab or Gojek, while local taxis are available instantly—but at double the price. 🚖 5. Paying with cards? Be prepared for a 2-3% fee in mid-to-low tier shops. Unlike high-end venues, the concept of credit seems to be a luxury here, often fraught with scams. 💳 6. Costs have tripled due to the double whammy of COVID-19 and the Ukraine conflict. It's economics driven by desperation and, oddly, Russian money circumventing global financial sanctions. 💰 7. I conducted my first sprint review while strolling the ocean shore, using the Wi-Fi from a beach club (secured with VPN, of course!). Turns out, relaxation generates productivity. 🌊💻 8. The Balinese send off their deceased in a DIY cremation ceremony, their ashes escorted to the ocean in a parade of work trucks full of families and friends. 🔥🚛⚱ 9. The monkeys here are master thieves, swiping hats, phones, and glasses faster than pickpockets on Rome's metro. And they trade them for food! Survival of the trickiest. 🐒 10. After 30 days here, my 3-year-old daughter communicates almost comfortably in English. One of the most incredible and wonderful outcomes of this long journey. 🗺️👧 Five weeks in Bali has been a cocktail of tourist life, work commitments, and expat experiences, with two extraordinary kids for garnish. In these 35 days, we've tasted nearly every slice of life Bali offers.
