AI is having its mark on all of these functions and its effects are expected to grow over time. We’re already seeing examples of this in the form of smarter chatbots for HR support, AI-driven recruitment, and the personalisation of employee experiences. Q: How have customer demands shifted in the last year, especially with the increasing move towards remote work and automation? 🎤 Rashid: Customers are increasingly expecting global flexibility that facilitates the needs of remote, such as accommodating additional languages on a platform, unique workflows, or enabling complex insights on workforce trends, global labour costs, and compliance risks. Platforms that can handle multi-country payroll processing within diverse regulatory environments reflect today’s workforce that is globally distributed. There’s also growing demand for platforms that integrate seamlessly with a wider ecosystem of workforce management tools such as HRIS, HCMs, ERPs, and CRMs. HR and Finance teams want to spend the least time possible on manual data entry and maintenance but have also come to expect accurate data flows between these systems. Q: What challenges are businesses facing when adopting new HR or finance software, and how can they overcome these barriers? 🎤 Rashid: There are a few challenges when adopting new HR and finance software, such as issues in data migration, employees being resistant to change, and cyber security. Comprehensive training programs and the appointment of internal, “champions” can be introduced to overcome these challenges and ease any implementation issues. Companies can also involve the teams that use this software early on and conduct pilot programs to ensure a seamless full implementation. Did you know that today is the National Day of Spain? It is held annually on 12 October and is also commonly referred to as “Día de la Hispanidad”. 🇪🇸 🥳 The 12th of October is one of the eight national public holidays on which employees all over the country enjoy an additional paid day off to celebrate the unity of the Spanish nation and the country’s rich cultural heritage. 🥘 🥂 In addition, employees enjoy six regional public holidays which are defined by each of the 17 autonomous communities individually, bringing the number of public holidays to a total of 14 additional paid days off. 🥳 Did you know that today is the Day of German Unity? It is celebrated each year on 3 October and commemorates the German reunification in 1990. 🤝 October 3rd is a nationwide public holiday. This means that employees get an additional paid day off, regardless of how long they have been working for their current employer. ⚖️ And while there is no requirement by law to pay higher rates to employees who are required to work on a public holiday (e.g. because they work shifts), many collective bargaining agreements mandate higher pay on bank holidays. 💸 Businesses should keep this in mind when processing payroll in Germany.
