The #COHY project is developing three cutting-edge membranes to improve the efficiency of #CO2 and #hydrogen recovery from industrial emissions. These include: 1️⃣ Hydrogen-selective Molecular Sieving (MS) membranes: Offering superior H2/CO2 selectivity compared to conventional Pd membranes, enabling hydrogen production from KARDOKMAK's emissions. 2️⃣ Water-selective MS membranes: Extending catalyst life and reducing costs in CO2-to-methanol conversion. 3️⃣ Oriented graphene oxide hollow fiber membranes: With impressive CO2 permeance (>700 GPU) for efficient carbon capture. COHY is also showcasing cost-effective, membrane-intensified processes, including a two-stage system that slashes CO2 recovery costs by 50% compared to traditional methods! A recent breakthrough from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has trieed to tackling in the persistent challenge of voltage decay in lithium-ion batteries, a major hurdle limiting their lifespan and energy storage capacity. This new technology directly addresses the issue, achieving negligible voltage decay (only 0.02 mV per cycle) through the stabilization of the cathode's honeycomb structure. I’ve written our ‘why we invested in’ blog piece for our latest investment - Anaphite. To put it simply, we need cheaper EVs. Manufacturing cheaper EVs relies on cutting battery costs, and they've reached a significant breakthrough. Anaphite has patented chemistry-based battery electrode production technology that reduces the cost of EV batteries by 5-10%. This technology can reduce both the cost of EVs and of stationary storage, making owning an electric car more affordable and turbocharging market adoption.  More in the full post, found here: https://bit.ly/4f0JAl2 

Storing and transporting #hydrogen has been a significant challenge for the industry for decades. Most of the widely adopted technologies today either rely on extremely high pressures of up to 700 bar or very low temperatures of -253 degrees Celsius. Both approaches cause significant inefficiencies and create legitimate safety concerns, which are costly to mitigate. We are working on finding the “silver bullet”: our solid-state hydrogen storage solution is based on novel nano-engineered reticular materials. This technology allows us to store and transport hydrogen at low pressure and ambient temperature, enabling the wider adoption of hydrogen.
