A clean slate for Defence technology Lee Hannaford Director of Redwing Technology, has shared insightful reflections on the opportunities arising from the recent changes in government. As an SME advising companies and governments on technological solutions, especially in the defence and national security sectors, Lee identifies a significant advantage in this transitional period. 👉 “The biggest opportunity is a clean slate, regardless of political persuasions, an opportunity to revisit programmes that are already in flow such as the foreign policy area, EU relations, Commonwealth, and others.” Lee emphasises the potential benefits of closer EU defence collaboration for U.K. businesses and security. This approach could help overcome existing programme delays and foster vital technological collaboration in a rapidly changing and often unpredictable global landscape. As the landscape evolves, it is essential for leaders to seize these opportunities for innovation and strategic partnerships to ensure a more secure future. ✨🚀 #Defence #NationalSecurity #Technology #Collaboration #Innovation #Leadership #RedwingTechnology #LabourBusiness #Labourdigital #MinistryofDefence #MOD #DepartmentofBusinessandTrade #DBT #EUsecurity #UKdefencesector #Collaboration #Opportunities

In the midst of an increasingly digital world, technology is becoming a defining factor that shapes the future of democracy and security. Andrew Makridis makes a case that we must maintain leadership in emerging technologies via collaboration, with organizations like IQT (In-Q-Tel), Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and ATI | Advanced Technology International setting the example in public-private partnerships. Having supported countless government programs managed by ATI, I am always humbled to see the brightest minds in government, industry and academia converging to solve our nation's most difficult challenges. There remains a lot of work to be done. To Andrew's point, we must "create an intentional strategy so the defense industrial base does not atrophy." Our national and economic security are at stake. https://lnkd.in/eF4Wyvcg

Thanks to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's John Neal and Office of Strategic Capital's Jared Evans for sharing insightful developments in the government's objective to accelerate and scale private investment in critical supply chain technologies: -Objective is to streamline lending and finance cash flow with tools that protect our supply chains. In contrast to grants or contracts that carry regulatory requirements -The investment community can participate through the SBIC program -Currently focused on emerging and critical technologies -There is no need to have a DoD contract, this is distinct from the acquisition system, e.g. FAR; and complements the financial sector -Programs will provide consistency in government tech investment through long term loans Do you want to shape the future of this program? The OSC is requesting advise from industry on how to right size their financial products and communicate infrastructure challenges. #BDO #aerospace #defense Kasra Mojtahedi, CPA Howard E. In a new article, Commercialisation Manager Megan Hatton explores three of the most impactful challenges facing the defence innovation landscape today, and highlights potential solutions to overcome and navigate these key issues. “We need to build – and urgently – ecosystems that are ready to respond. These ecosystems need to be built up from one end of the scale to the other: from ideation to commercialisation, and they need to be able to do it at speed.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eeSYyWbv #DefenceInnovation #Defence #Impact #Technology #Collaboration Hetti Barkworth-Nanton CBE
