The LDR-50 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) development started 4 years ago at VTT to deliver a Finnish solution for decarbonising district heating. "There are currently some 30–40 technical experts involved in the LDR development process, with expertise ranging from reactor physics and radiation safety to fluid dynamics and material technology", and NDT.  https://lnkd.in/dTR7z-td The "NDT-ability" is a considerable input to the SMRs design phase, and needless to mention the vitality of inspection and testing during construction and throughout the plant lifetime. NDT requirements and methods for SMRs may vary based on the specific reactor concept, design, materials, manufacturing, and regulations.
