Cultural Impact on Transportation in the Philippines Transportation in the Philippines is heavily influenced by the country's rich cultural heritage. From traditional modes of transportation to modern innovations, the Filipino people's way of getting around reflects their history, lifestyle, and values. Let's explore how culture shapes transportation in this diverse archipelago. Traditional Modes of Transportation One of the most iconic forms of transportation in the Philippines is the jeepney. Originally repurposed military jeeps left by American forces after World War II, jeepneys have evolved into colorful and artistic public vehicles that are a staple in Filipino cities and provinces. The design of each jeepney is unique, often adorned with vibrant paintings, religious icons, and decorative elements that reflect the local culture. Riding a jeepney is not just a way to get from point A to point B; it's an immersive cultural experience. Beyond the jeepney, the tricycle is another popular mode of transportation in the Philippines. These motorcycle-driven sidecars can be found in urban areas and rural towns al... “Ito na yun? Uwi na lang tayo.” 😔That’s our initial reaction when my friends and I went to Malaysia back in 2014. The flight was delayed. We were greeted by a strong curry aroma of food stalls as we enter our hotel. It was a horrible experience on Day 1. I had low expectations when I went back to Malaysia this week. But tell you what, I had an incredible experience the past 5 days, and I got a day left to conclude this trip. 🤗So, what changed? Resources and Options. In 2014, we don’t have much budget so we settled for a cheaper hotel, traveled on public transpo, and was able to visit few attractions only as we only had 2 days in Malaysia. This time, with my fellow entrepreneurs, we chose a condotel that’s near our event venue and few minutes from city center. We even rented a car whole day to tour the city, and opt for grab transpo when needed. We had better options because our resources improved. Totoo talaga na kapag may options ka, you have access to bigger, grander things. Tulad na tong photo sa Saloma Bridge with background ng Petronas Twin Towers, locals were offering to capture professional photo for RM10 (Php100+). I took the offer so I could look back on this trip on a better lens. I thank God for options. I thank myself for taking on these options and opportunities. Feeling mo wala kang options, that you have to endure your current situation that you hate?Sabi nga ni Miranda Priestly kay Andrea sa Devil Wears Prada when she insisted “I didn’t have a choice”: “No, no, you chose.”Everyday, options, choices, opportunities are presented to us. Always be mindful of what you choose. #LaiWrites #SaturdayThoughts 📍#SalomaBridge #PetronasTwinTowers #KualaLumpur#Options #Resources #Choices #ChooseWisely #MalaysiaSecondTimeAround #AdventuresOfALAIfetime #LaiExplores

I show commercial real estate principals how to work fewer hours, deliver more value and accelerate revenue growth year-on-year. If you like the sound of that, DM me the word ‘GROW’ and we’ll make a custom plan for you.
We’ve taken Juna to Bali for her 4th birthday. It’s probably one more trip than we needed to take this year. But it’s consistent with my current plan of spending 3 months of the year overseas. Some people might say 3 months of travel is a bit excessive. Or that if my “real” life was any good, then I would not want to take that much time away from it. But doing this proves it’s possible to grow my business while working fewer hours than I previously did (it’s happening). And as long as I work smarter, and don’t lose focus on delivering more value to clients, I believe that it’s sustainable. This supports my vision and aligns with my values (I’m not the hustle guy). And it’s also what I want to help my clients achieve for themselves. Because even though 3 months off for a commercial real estate principal might not be possible. The broader point is that we are all compensated based on the value we deliver. Not by the amount of time we spend creating it. And that’s one of the main things I help my clients make the most of. Outside of the business, this is something we have the ability to do now. While Juna is young enough to not worry about her missing school. And, by the end of every trip away, we grow closer as a family, too. Which makes it the best possible of investment of time we could ever make. #cre #cresuccess #productivity #leadership #values #vision #commercialrealestate

Preparing/planning 2025 #schooltrip or #studytour to #japan? Points to consider: - Osaka Expo 2025 runs 13 April to October 2025, impacting availability and price of accommodation around the Kansai region - JR Pass prices doubled in October 2024, so it may be worth reconsidering repeating past tour itineraries that were built around the #jrpass - Consider experiences off the beaten track; #tohoku region, #shikoku or #kanazawa can offer experiences on par with #kyoto and #takayama but with far less crowding and better availability - Don't forget to check the latest requirements for luggage on public transport; additional baggage fees apply to some bullet train lines
