How long should a public speech last? 10 minutes? 20 minutes? 40 minutes? Unless the event organiser sets a time, the correct answer is... ...your speech should last only as long as it takes to tell your story i.e. get your message out there and move your audience to action. Any more is wasted words. #publicspeaker #publicspeaking

“Music is the silence between the notes”- Claude Debussy 🎵 The silence between the notes is when we can absorb the sound. Similarly, the silence between words is when your audience can absorb your message. That’s just one of seven reasons that I share in this blog post about why you should use pause in your presentations. Can you add to the list? https://lnkd.in/eRnxCUBQ #UnlockSpeakingConfidence #PublicSpeaking #PresentationSkills

There are three major qualities of an excellent broadcaster; 1) Excellent Researcher: You keep digging for facts about a subject matter, so you don't feed your audience with unverified contents you picked from random blogs or unverified sources. Never go on air sounding empty and uninformed. 2) Versatility: You have to be interested in several spheres of life to be an outstanding broadcaster. Even if you have niched down, its not a crime to know a bit about many other things. You will know the value the day a random listener calls on your show and ask about something entirely different from your niche. 3) Open-mindedness: Your mind must be always open and prepared to manage information. Always be ready to draw inspiration from your environment. No information is a waste! Let's keep it at that for now. I will share more next time. #30dayswritingchallenge #McSHEGAZY 🎤 #Masterofceremony #OAP
