Got to thank Boomer, of station WAG AM690, for forwarding this article from Radio World of Part 15 Broadcasting guru Bill Defelice. https://lnkd.in/eYzRArUy Wannabes??? Actually, many Part 15 Broadcasters are seasoned has-beens, of retired station engineers and long-time radio on-air personalities. Either way, this is still a means to make radio your way. You could make it commercial, and charge for advertising, and some have, or make it non-commercial, or even make it an information-like station. Anyway, YOU can still do it. Just, stay within the FCC Part 15 Rules. Already have a small, licensed, commercial station, or even an LPFM, that has trouble covering a certain small community? A Part 15 AM Station can fill-in the niche affordably, and license-free. Limits are your imagination. BTW, an FCC Certified Part 15 transmitter can be a fantastic Christmas gift. Passing thoughts....
