As a project manager/civil engineer, managing clients who overstep their roles on construction projects can be challenging. Interference in procurement, store keeping, and even technical decisions often leads to negative outcomes. Setting clear boundaries and defining roles from the start is crucial for project success. My distinguished colleagues, let's drop our experience in this regard and highlight other best approaches to solve this challenge. #ClientshouldRemainClient #Letmedomyjob #Construction

🔨 Key Stakeholders in Construction Projects 🔨 In every construction project, stakeholders play a pivotal role in ensuring success. Essential internal stakeholders include the project manager, site supervisor/foreman, estimator, construction engineer, architect, safety officer, and skilled laborers. Equally important are the external stakeholders, which consist of clients/customers, suppliers/vendors, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, investors/financial institutions, the community/public, and environmental agencies. Understanding and effectively managing these stakeholders can make or break a project. Who else would you add to this list? Attention to (planning engineers , Construction and project manager ) 👷♂️ what's the difference between Total Float AND Free Float in construction ? In construction planning, the concepts of total float and free float are critical for effective project scheduling and management: 1.Total Float -Definition: Total float is the amount of time that an activity can be delayed without causing a delay to the project's completion date or to the start date of any subsequent activities -Calculation: It is calculated as the difference between the earliest and latest start or finish times of an activity -Implications: High total float indicates flexibility in scheduling that activity. Low or zero total float means the activity is on the critical path, where any delay will directly affect the project completion date 2.Free Float -Definition: Free float is the amount of time that an activity can be delayed without delaying the start of any subsequent activities -Calculation: It is calculated as the difference between the earliest finish time of the current activity and the earliest start time of the next activity -Implications: Free float is a more restrictive measure than total float. It indicates how much time an activity can slip before it affects another activity, but not necessarily the entire project In summary, total float pertains to the entire project schedule, whereas free float concerns the immediate subsequent activities. Both are important for identifying scheduling flexibility and potential bottlenecks in construction planning Copy Right : Ahmed Badawy Follow me and Ring it 🔔 on my profile for more construction management and Civil Engineering content!💪🏆 #AhmedBadawy #Planning #Constructionmanager #projectmanager #interview #questions

Good Morning. Useful Tips for (Planning Engineers 👌) In construction project management (total float and free float )are terms used in scheduling to describe the flexibility available within a project schedule. Here's the difference between them: 1.Total Float Definition .Total float is the amount of time that a project task can be delayed without delaying the overall project completion date or any subsequent tasks. Calculation. It is calculated as the difference between the latest possible finish time and the earliest possible finish time for a task. Implication .High total float indicates that the task has flexibility within the overall schedule. Tasks on the critical path typically have zero total float. 2.Free Float Definition.Free float is the amount of time that a project task can be delayed without delaying the early start of any subsequent task. Calculation. It is the difference between the earliest possible start time of the next task and the earliest possible finish time of the current task. Implication. Free float only considers the immediate next task, making it a more localized measure of schedule flexibility. In summary, while both total float and free float measure schedule flexibility, total float considers the impact on the entire project timeline, whereas free float focuses on the impact on immediately succeeding tasks. ●Ahmedbadawy #planning #projectmanager #construction #floating #Civilengineer #Ahmedbadawy #PlanningEngineer #PlanningManager
