The biggest mistake we make as litigators is becoming too desensitized to litigation. For us it's become second nature. We've seen businesses survive litigation. We know settlements are common and depositions are run of the mill. We understand the procedure and why we might not be able to dismiss the case, but still win in the long run. But for clients (and their employees) litigation is scary. Depositions are nerve-wracking. Complaints or Answers with what they believe are unjust allegations misconstruing facts are infuriating. Even when they win, they still feel like they lost. The biggest part of our job as litigators isn't just moving the litigation forward, but it's guiding our clients through this intimidating process and recognizing that they need more than just our legal skills. They need our guidance and support. That's why we're called #counselors. #Litigation #Lawfirms #Lawyer
