Life isn’t just about survival, (although it sometimes feels like that) it’s about the ability to thrive. We all experience physical reactions, emotions and thoughts in the face of our everyday life, some of which serve us well and some of which not so much. We don’t always stop to think about where those reactions have come from and what they mean. We also don’t often realise that if we develop our physical intelligence and learn how to recognise and understand those reactions, we can actually transform them. People who approach me for coaching are often wanting to build their confidence at home or work, manage feelings of overwhelm, find clarity of thought to make better decisions or want to make a change but are feeling stuck. Something many people have in common is the tendency to spend a great deal of psychological, emotional and physical energy worrying about things that are outside of their control. Understanding how our physiology is impacting on our physical and emotional reactions and then taking proactive steps to manage that using simple but effective pragmatic strategies grounded in neuroscience can be transformative. It's a powerful way to unpack the story of what is really going on for you and inside you. Mother's Day was yesterday... Or not? Hi there! Yesterday, I spent #MothersDay with my mom. But it was Mother's day for me. In my country and many others, we celebrate said holiday the second Sunday of #May, but that is not the case in other countries. I can actually say I was born on Mother's Day if I want to because in Bolivia, they celebrate it every May 27th. Do you see what's going on? #CulturalSensitivity can change the lenses through which your brand and message are perceived. Another great lunchtime event organised by pro-manchester. I always come away with new connections or takeaways from the seminars and today didn't fail on both accounts. I also got the added bonus of a walk in the sun to and from COLONY Fabrica, and a welcome break from the computer screens. I spoke with Jemma Bargh from Trafford & Stockport College Group and discussed ways in which Crescent Purchasing Consortium could provide some support to the College learners, which I look forward to exploring further. The seminar was interesting and I gained a number of takeaways on the subject of how storytelling should be at the heart of a communications strategy. Here are my top 3: 1. Consider what you/your business want to be known for? 2. Look to include a human element into the story that people will remember. 3. Don't be afraid of repeating yourself because your message may have to be said several times before your dream customer(s) hear it. I say, don't be afraid of repeating yourself.... 😁 Lots more I could add, which I'll be sharing with the comms team at Crescent Purchasing Consortium during this week.
