When working with test automation, a tester gains a more technical perspective of the product, which proves useful in mediation with developers. Being able to explain why a certain feature or change blocks a test, while understanding the consequences e.g. an unexpected refactoring from the developer’s side, helps to avoid tension between parties. https://lnkd.in/e8gtHxjK #TestAutomation Odin.ie

✋ It doesn't matter which language is being used for test automation. One need to 💡 focus if the purpose of automation i.e. either functionality or performance of application is tested well. ❄ There is no need to make it complicated also. Simple reusable code should be sufficient if it fulfills the purpose. 😊

Choosing the right testing approach is super important, especially when you're running tests in your CI/CD pipeline. It can make a big difference in how fast the test execution takes. Knowing when to use API testing or web testing is key. With API testing, you don't have to worry about changing locators. You can easily verify the functionality of individual API endpoints, such as CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations. To automate API in your project, you can use Cypress.io which can handle both web and API testing. With Cypress, you can make API calls directly in your test scripts using the inbuilt command cy.request(). It's smooth and seamless. Additionally, you can also pass data from fixture files and handle more complicated testing scenarios. I've made a playlist that covers API testing in Cypress: https://lnkd.in/dSD36hGs #apitesting #ABAutomationHub #community #cypress
