With alcohol deaths at an all-time high, and experts predicting the number is set to rise again, we need the government to take action to save lives, reduce pressure on our NHS and boost the economy.   Alcohol harm is directly linked to price; the cheaper it is, the more is consumed, and the more damage done.   If alcohol duty was increased between 2020-2032, it could prevent over 5,000 deaths, over 160,000 hospitalisations, and save healthcare services over £800 million.   Ask your MP to write to the Chancellor to take action on cheap, harmful alcohol at the upcoming Spring Budget at https://lnkd.in/e577zcci.

In the states with the highest #Medicare usage, Part D premiums will rise between 42% and 57% in 2024. The average increase for the entire country, while not as dramatic, may still a hefty 21% in 2024 to $48.

Is it just me, or is this messed up? The UK Government itself stated* that: - at least 10 per cent of all drugs prescribed either don't work or actually cause harm - that 20 per cent of hospital admissions are as a result of drug side-effects All this costs the NHS £1bn a year that could be redirected for prevention. Yet our doctors end up prescribing drugs because they don't have an option to refer people for preventative services – such as physical activity.
