#NeverMiss Day 1198 Relax to go faster. Sounds crazy, but it really is true and I see this each time I get on my rower. In the drills where we row at low stroke rates between 16-18 strokes per minute (SPM) the focus is on your breathing and applying more force to each stroke. It's all about pacing. Going fast for the sake of going fast is like a hamster on a hamster wheel. Once you understand and master the slower stroke rates, as you increase in speed, your technique improves. Mastering the low stroke rates also help improve those long distance rowing exercises including 30min, 60min, half and full-marathon rows.
