SELF-CARE INITIATIVE Laurel Life promotes the importance of employee self-care, especially in a field that is evident of professional burn-out. To combat professional burn-out and turn-over, Laurel Life developed an internal employee relations committee, Safe Solace. Safe Solace then developed a “Self-Care Initiative” to encourage relaxed team building time for our staff. Laurel Life Franklin FBMHS staff enjoyed a well-needed, Self Care team building experience. Everyone enjoyed activities, swimming, delicious food, and fun in the sun! #selfcare #mentalhealth

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week! Our focus this week (and all year round) is on improving internal infrastructure to support and protect the wellbeing of our teams. With this in mind, we’d like to announce the roll-out of our new mental health policy, and the refresh of our 'Reach Out' internal initiative. A brand new dedicated phone service is now available to provide support and guidance for our staff. The full policy is available for staff to view on our intranet now (along with the Reach Out phone number), and we’ve highlighted a few of the key policy components below: ⚙️ We monitor the workplace to identify hazards and risks, and take steps to eliminate or reduce these. ⚙️ We monitor workloads, working hours and overtime to avoid staff over-working, and encourage staff to take their full annual leave entitlement to get the rest they deserve. ⚙️ We train and promote our team of Mental Health First Aiders and Responders, offering guidance and support to fellow colleagues in their times of need. ⚙️ Company Directors are committed to the provision of the necessary training, supervision, information, procedures, skills, equipment and leadership necessary to achieve our mental health policy objectives. As always, we pride ourselves on our core value of 'Pursuing Improvement, Always', so we look forward to continually improving processes and resources as we evolve our mental health support. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthPolicy #MentalHealthMatters

OT Supervisor - (PG Cert Clinical supervision) - Independent Occupational Therapist - Children, Young People and Families - Extensive experience – Self-employed.
During #mentalhealthawareness week 2024 let’s focus on YOU. The OT, whether you work alone, manage a busy clinic, work in a diverse setting or are part of a great team. Occupational Therapist have so many therapeutic tools that they use with clients. No matter where you work, each OT also uses ‘therapeutic use of self’. This makes us all unique in our approach, how we use the tools in our toolbox and how we communicate with those around you. So, let’s acknowledge that we bring a lot of ourselves to work. OT supervision with me places YOU at the centre. When we access ‘therapeutic use of self’ we must remember that we also need a place to managed our responses to different therapeutic and work dynamics. A space to reflect and evaluate. To recognise challenges and successes. To recognise if we are feeling overwhelmed or stressed. To have open discussion about the things that make us feel vulnerable, when we doubt or question ourselves. When we feel like things are out of balance between life and work. OT supervision protects your wellbeing with a safe space to offload. To reflect, to learn from mistakes and successes and to grow. If you are looking to invest in OT supervision, where your wellbeing and life work balance is central to the discussion. Then comment below, or message me. I provide 1:1 and group supervision. Let’s have a cuppa and a chat. #OTsupervision #wellbeing #burnout #occupationaltherapy #schoolbasedot #clinicot #independentot #diverseot
