Give your natural holiday trees, wreaths and garlands a second life by recycling them. Like yard waste materials, holiday trees and greenery are banned from landfills in Missouri and are discouraged from being deposited into Kansas landfills. But, people who live in the Kansas City region have many options for recycling natural holiday trees and greenery. 🎄Contact your trash hauler to see if they provide curbside pickup. 🎄Find a drop-off location near you. Recyclespot compiled a list of places in Kansas and Missouri. Most services are free. Remember, all decorations, stands and plastic bags must be removed. Find a spot near you for pick up and drop off options to recycle your natural holiday trees and greenery: https://ow.ly/WQAp50QlXmM

Fly tipping is NEVER acceptable. It's a blight on our community and harms our environment. Let's all take a stand against this illegal activity! Remember, there are proper ways to dispose of bulky items - you can book a bulky collection through Sandwell Council or take them to the Household Recycling Centre. Let's work together to keep our streets clean and beautiful! 📊 Did you know?In 2022/23, there were 1.08 million fly-tipping incidents reported by DEFRA. This is a concerning figure that highlights the importance of responsible waste disposal. Let's do our part to reduce this number and protect our environment. Join us in spreading awareness and taking action against fly tipping! Together, we can make a difference and create a cleaner, safer community for all. #StopFlyTipping #ProtectOurEnvironment #ResponsibleDisposal #CleanCommunity #NoToFlyTipping #CommunityCleanUp ##flytippingisacrime #Sandwell #Serco https://lnkd.in/ei7-gJVa https://lnkd.in/e37TKMbY https://lnkd.in/euBmkcFx

Ready for an inside scoop on how TerraCycle recycles hard-to-recycle trash? When our TerraCyclers recycle with TerraCycle, their trash will always end up at one of our TerraCycle material recovery facilities (MRFs). Then, the magic happens… Once the trash is checked in, it’s sorted and cleaned before it is recycled into raw materials. Those raw materials are then used to make new items like benches, watering cans, shipping pallets, and more—giving hard-to-recycle trash a whole new life!

🌟 Happy Garbage Man Day! 🌟 Today, we celebrate the hardworking men and women who keep our communities clean and healthy. From early mornings to long hours, their dedication ensures that our streets are free from waste and our environment stays beautiful. Did you know? 🚛 Millions of Tons: The average garbage truck collects around 600 tons of waste per year. That’s like picking up the weight of 100 elephants! ♻️ Recycling Heroes: Garbage collectors play a crucial role in the recycling process, helping to divert tons of material from landfills each year. 🕒 Early Birds: Many garbage collectors start their day as early as 4 AM, ensuring our waste is collected and managed before most of us are even awake. 🌍 Environmental Impact: Efficient waste management helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, making garbage collectors key players in the fight against climate change. 💪 Heavy Lifting: A typical garbage collector can lift and move around 6,000 pounds of waste each day – talk about strength and stamina! On this special day, let's show our appreciation for their essential work. Next time you see a garbage collector, give them a wave or a smile – they truly deserve it! 😊 #GarbageManDay #ThankYouGarbageCollectors #LibertyDisposal #CommunityHeroes #EnvironmentalStewards #CleanCommunities

12 Days of Trash - The Last 4 Days Welcome back to the 12 Days of Trash: the final showdown between communication and contamination. Holiday season has long since wrapped up, but the waste (and joy!) it brings us still lingers. The extra 1 million tons of waste in landfills per week has stopped. What hasn't is the need for proper disposal of problematic items. We know some of your citizens recycled, re-used, and reduced fantastically this holiday season. We also know others did not - and not necessarily through fault of their own, but due to the lack of easily accessible information needed to make the proper choices. ☃️ Here's how to make next holiday season better: https://bit.ly/3GsiVOC #HolidayWaste #12DaysofTrash #Waste #Recycle

Did you know your trash and recycling cans need to have their lids fully closed for the city to ensure they get emptied? 🙉 While sometimes cans with slightly open lids still get serviced, there are instances where overflowing cans get skipped entirely. The reason is simple: during pick-up, if the lid isn’t shut, bags and trash can easily fly out, causing a big mess. To avoid this, make sure your cans aren’t overflowing and the lids are securely closed when you place them at the curb. Help keep the streets clean and ensure your trash gets collected! 💯 #canmonkey #cantocurb #closedlids
