🌍🐝 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝🌍 Did you know that bees are tiny heroes of our planet? 🌼🌿 Here are some buzzworthy facts about why bees are so important: 🍓🍏 1/3 of Our Food Supply: Bees 🐝 help produce one-third of our food supply by pollinating crops and plants. Without them, many of our favorite foods like fruits, vegetables, and nuts wouldn't be available! 🌳🌻 Supporting Wildlife: Bees pollinate plants that provide food for various animals. This not only helps wildlife thrive but also contributes to maintaining healthy ecosystems. 🦋🦉 🌱🌎 Preventing Soil Erosion: By pollinating plants, bees help maintain vegetation that holds soil in place. This reduces erosion and keeps our landscapes lush and stable. 🏞️🌾 Let's celebrate and protect these incredible pollinators for the health of our planet and future generations! 🌍💚 https://lnkd.in/e3DS-aJD #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #Pollinators

Happy World Bee Day 🐝 Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities.🦋 Pollination is, however, a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend, entirely, or at least in part, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of global agricultural land. Not only do pollinators contribute directly to food security, but they are key to conserving biodiversity. To raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, the UN designated 20 May as World Bee Day. Lets celebrate World Bee Day! 🐝💛 Today, we celebrate the tiny but mighty bees that play a crucial role in our ecosystem. Did you know that bees are responsible for pollinating about one-third of the food we eat? These industrious insects are essential for our agricultural success and biodiversity. You may well know that our CEO Richard Tavener is a keen beekeeper and Chair of the St Albans and District Beekeeping Association. The video is a cast swarm leaving from a hive in his apiary yesterday. Here are a few simple ways you can contribute to bee conservation: Plant bee-friendly flowers and herbs in your garden. Avoid using pesticides and herbicides. Support local beekeepers by buying their honey and products. Educate others about the significance of bees and the challenges they face. Join me in celebrating National Bee Day by doing something positive for our buzzing friends. Together, we can create a healthier environment for bees and, in turn, for ourselves. 🐝💛 #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #Pollinators #BeeConservation #Sustainability #Ecosystem

As they go about their daily buzz-ness of making honey, our rooftop bees are pollinating the wild-flowers and hedgerows, enhancing biodiversity and local habitats near KYOCERA Document Solutions UK’s HQ ///buzz.found.racks The ‘B’ team is on target to deliver another bumper harvest of our single apiary #BeeKind honey this Summer for our customers, partners and visitors to enjoy. While we wait for it to be bottled and labelled with love, let’s take a moment to understand why #WorldBeeDay 2024 is so critical: The #UN says: “…we must first grasp bees' significance. They aren't just honey producers. These creatures are primary pollinators, ensuring that our ecosystems are healthy and functional. By doing this, they directly and indirectly support several SDGs, from zero hunger to life on land.” SDGs 2, 3, 6 & 15. #SavetheBees #BeeEngaged + Discover more about #Kyocera’s Bees: https://lnkd.in/ehwyB9NA

🐝🌼 Let's Celebrate World Bee Day! 🌼🐝 Today, on World Bee Day, we're reminded of the vital role bees and other pollinators play in our ecosystems. Did you know that nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plant species rely on animal pollination, along with over 75% of the world's food crops? Bees are essential for biodiversity conservation and food security. However, bees are facing increasing threats due to human activities, including intensive farming, pesticide use, and climate change. Close to 35% of invertebrate pollinators, like bees and butterflies, are at risk of extinction globally. At Wylde Connections, we recognise the urgency of protecting our pollinators and preserving biodiversity. That's why we're committed to raising awareness and taking action to support bee populations. Here are some ways you can get involved: 🌸 Plant a diverse set of native plants to provide food and habitat for bees. 🍯 Support local beekeepers by buying raw honey and bee products. 🌿 Avoid using pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides in your garden. 💧 Create a bee water fountain by leaving a water bowl outside. 🌳 Help sustain forest ecosystems, which are crucial for bee habitats. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a brighter future for bees and other pollinators. Happy World Bee Day! 🐝 #WorldBeeDay https://lnkd.in/gESry3S

In recognition of the vital role that the youth can play in addressing challenges bees and other pollinators are facing, World Bee Day 2024 is focusing on the theme ''Bee Engaged with Youth.'' The theme spotlights the significance of involving youth in beekeeping and pollinator conservation efforts, acknowledging them as the future stewards of our environment. The aim is to raise awareness amongst young people and other stakeholders about the essential role of bees and other pollinators in agriculture, ecological balance, and biodiversity preservation. By engaging the youth in educational initiatives, advocacy efforts and beekeeping activities, we can motivate a new generation of environmental leaders and empower them to make a positive impact on the world. As the young generation, how can we do more? Buy raw honey from local farmers, protecting wild bee colonies from wild fires, raising awareness and sharing information about pollinator conservation within our networks and communities, purchasing of products from sustainable agricultural practices, and minimise the use of pesticides, fungicides or herbicides in gardens. Saving bees is saving our planet, therefore we must protect them and keep them safe to make our planet a better and safer place. #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #beeday #bee #worldbeeday #bees #nature #flowers #beeparty #pollinators #honey #bumblebee #beekeeping

World Bee Day May 20, 2024 World Bee Day is celebrated every year on May 20 to raise awareness among the international public about the importance of bees and other pollinators for humanity in the light of food security, the global elimination of hunger and care for the environment and biodiversity. They are essential for our existence, sustaining agriculture and biodiversity worldwide. With over 20,000 species, bees and various other wild pollinators play vital role in preserving our ecosystem. Destruction of their natural habitat, intensive farming practices, climate change, and pests and diseases are some of the reasons causing decline in both the number and diversity of bees. This year's theme "Bee Engaged with Youth", highlights the importance of involving young people in beekeeping and pollinator conservation efforts, recognizing them as the future stewards of our environment. It emphasizes global cooperation to engage young individuals in protecting these vital species. By doing so, we safeguard food security, preserve agricultural livelihoods, and combat biodiversity loss. #vetsaw #worldbeeday #beengagedwithyouth
