Our $38M investment supported the construction of this facility, which will be a key site for manufacturing nucleic acid raw materials in San Diego, CA. These raw materials are key to producing mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics. BARDA is focused on improving the nation’s critical biopharmaceutical supply chain. mRNA technology has the potential to fill the gap in vaccine and therapeutic manufacturing in preparation for public health emergencies. A great study, describe the MoA of HMB-001, a bi-specific mAb targeting FVIIa and TLT-1, driving hemostasis in patients with Glanzmann thrombasthenia. When these patients are refractory to platelet transfusion, they need pharmacological intervention. HMB-001 is a very elegant prophylactic treatment to prevent bleed in patients with such disorders. What an impressive dataset! It is truly remarkable to see the elegance with which compounds such as antibodies can be engineered to bridge proteins from diverse classes, thereby augmenting complex biological processes like coagulation. HMB-001 binds to TLT-1, a receptor only exposed when platelet are activated. A phase 1/2 clinical study is ongoing. https://lnkd.in/esNZuhDK
