#Championsleaguefinal #RealMadrid #winning #mentality #grit What makes for a Champion mentality? In any aspect of life. Be it the playing field or the business boardroom. Yesterday, Real Madrid provided some perspectives on that eternal question. Second best for most of the first half, Real Madrid was not having one of their better days in the Champions League Final. Their gallant yellow and black opponent-Borussia Dortmund, had completely upset the form guide for this match, and were looking much the superior side. They were embarking on wave after wave of attacks, on Real’s goal. But there was something calm about Real and their manager. Like there was when they last beat Liverpool in the final two years ago. There is decades of know-how which flows through the veins of this great institution. Of biding one’s time. Keeping the faith. Appreciating that at some point the tide can turn. And when that happens, appreciating they have the talent to exploit those opportunities. And, especially under Ancelotti over the last few years, there has been a grit, perhaps not seen before. This side knows how to win, when it’s not their best day. Sure enough, late in the second half, Dani Caravajal, one of the shortest players on the pitch, got his head to a Toni Kroos cross, to expertly direct the ball like a big centre forward. Minutes later, Vinicius Junior, exploited a defensive mishap to slot home. Done and Dusted. Ancelotti found time to give some of the old loyalists, some ‘glory moments’ on the pitch. A perfect recipe to keep team spirit high, and everyone completely invested and motivated. This match showed once again, to really be the best at whatever you do, it is vital to find out how to perform when one is having not the best of days. When belief might be sagging, and the circumstances not favorable. ‘Real’ champions take those odds, and even them out.
