Whether it’s raising a glass to a successful pitch, cheering on new work or championing our brilliant team of thinkers, we’ve had lots of reasons to celebrate this year. Last weekend, we threw an Xmas in July getaway at Kalinya Estate to say thanks to the whole CXL team for an epic first half of 2024. Between the pizza making, late nights, tennis matches and a spread to remember, our CXLegends had a chance to unwind, recharge and connect. Here’s to an even bigger six months to come!

Ever noticed how Aryna Sabalenka’s has been changing her strategy on the court lately? She’s shifted to “going for bigger targets,” while still smashing the ball in every single occasion—her shots flew at an average speed of 74mph at last year’s Wimbledon, surpassing the guys’ average of 71mph! This approach is the perfect metaphor for what we should be aiming to do in tennis club management these days. Let’s be real, many tennis directors and club managers get tempted to jump on every new trend. But the real win comes from picking those big, strategic goals that truly resonate with what our club stands for in the long run. Let’s think again about Sabalenka: it isn’t just just about playing it safe—it's about being smart where and when it counts. Whether we’re looking at boosting member engagement, upgrading our facilities, or rolling out cool new programs, the goal is to channel our efforts into making a real and measurable difference. By targeting these significant, strategic objectives with clarity and purpose, we’re not just upping our game—we’re also elevating the experience for every member and visitor. Let’s go for those big targets!

When I first stepped into a leadership role at Remedium, I made some bold moves that transformed our company culture. The impact was clear—our team was thriving, and the results followed. But one of the most valuable lessons I've learned this year is that culture isn’t something you can fix and forget. It needs constant care and attention. Balancing a happy, healthy team with high expectations is no easy challenge. The key is to set clear expectations—and then build an environment that supports those goals by providing: 💠 Invest in your team’s well-being. Show genuine care for their growth, development, and work-life balance 💠 Show a clear standard for what success looks like 💠 Provide systems, processes, and training to get there 💠 Offer a culture where innovation is constantly encouraged, and everyone feels connected to the mission 💠 & most importantly give 100% to your people, they’ll give 100% back. If they don’t, they’re simply not the right people. We don't always get it right, but we are committed to always getting better. #leadershiplessons #companyculture #sucessmindset
Earlier this month, we took the team to Stratford Padel Club for an exciting team bonding event! 🌟 It was the perfect mix of light-hearted competition and plenty of laughter, helping us connect and work better together. 💪 Padel brought out the best in us with some friendly rivalry and a big shoutout to Bryn Cotter and Sam Page for winning the day! It was an unforgettable day that strengthened our team spirit! 🏆 #TeamBonding #Teamwork #OfficeVibes #Remedium #UK

Ever had a plan that didn’t go exactly as expected? This week, after hurting my back playing tennis, I found myself at a crossroads: ➜Should I sit out or push through? On Saturday, I decided to test the waters with a 1.5-mile run. ➜Despite the pain, I managed to show up for the 6th USATF-NE race in the series, determined to hold onto my 4th place standing in the highly competitive 45-49 age group. What did I learn? 1️⃣ It’s not always about pushing yourself to the limit. Sometimes, it’s about pacing yourself, knowing when to step back, and finding value in supporting others along the way. 2️⃣ Even though I wasn’t at my best, I knew it was important to show up for my team. There’s something powerful about being there, contributing in any way you can, and reinforcing that sense of community and commitment. What did I do? ➜ Instead of racing hard, I chose to enjoy the roads with friends and teammates. It wasn’t just about the competition this time; it was about being part of the team and the experience. In our professional lives, we often focus on the next goal or milestone. But sometimes, the most meaningful progress comes when we step back, show up for the team, embrace the journey, and lift others up.

What does it take to become a champion? It's women's singles finals day at Wimbledon. What an inspiration to hear from Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King. What shines from them? Their great passion for the game. They loved to play whatever tennis they could, singles, doubles, mixed doubles. BJK winning all three championships in 1967 in the UK and US. Their lifetime winnings were less that the current Wimbledon championship purse. To become expert requires great determination and years of practice. Also the support of close friends, family and colleagues to give support and encouragement. This is true for us all whatever our profession. We spend years learning and practicing our craft, often depending on others to keep up our outside responsibilities. We are told, try hard, think positively, imagine your goals ,build your brand. achieve your dreams if you want them enough. publish or perish. Success is everything. It's wrong. Most of this success is pure luck. To be great you need something else. Something that drives that determination, belief and support. It's not just winning. Most of the time we do not win. The thrill of winning is transient and not enough. To be great you need to love what you do and the people you do it with. Find the thing you love and do it the best you can. That is real greatness whatever fortune allows you to achieve. Just listen to Martina and BJK. They are not great because they were winners, they were winners because they were great.

This month we look at the similarities between team sports and business. In all team sports, each team member has a very specific and vital role to play. The team has an overall goal to which everyone is committed. Within that there are also personal goals but those cannot undermine the team goal if the team is to be successful. #eqinaction #emotionalintelligence #teamwork

Moving from practice to match play in tennis is the ultimate test, showcasing how well skills hold up under pressure. Similarly, launching a product is our 'match play.' It's where preparation meets opportunity, and resilience turns challenges into triumphs. As we gear up to launch 4 out of 6 new products this May, our journey from 'drop feed' to 'live ball' practice has been instrumental. It's ensured our team is ready, our integration seamless, and our delivery impactful. Let's embrace the complexity and unpredictability, for it's in the real game that true champions are made. #LaunchReady #TeamSuccess #EmbraceTheChallenge

Resilience Personified … In the middle of this 600m race at the 2008 Big Ten Indoor Championship, expected winner Heather Dorniden took a huge tumble… but she didn't let that stop her. She picked herself up, charged forth, blazed through the pack, and… won! This isn't just about sports—it's a metaphor for life. We all face setbacks, but what truly defines us is our ability to rise again, push through the challenges, and sometimes, even come out on top. It's not about the setback; it's all about the comeback. Keep rising, keep pushing, and keep winning in your own ways! #Resilience #Motivation
