This paper presents an improved Gaussian mixture #probability #hypothesis #density (#GM-#PHD) multi-target tracking pipeline. The proposed GM-PHD solution considers (i) radar bounding-box- based measurements, (ii) a clutter model for radar observations, and (iii) robust target identification. Using both simulated and experimental scenarios, these contributions are proven to improve the tracking performance in terms of robustness against noise and clutter, as well as target identification. The significance of the presented #multitarget #tracking (#MTT) scheme lies in its low complexity since it does not need any data association. Happy to see the CUAS solutions coming online and just wanted to highlight the Modular Mission Payloads (MMPs) we’ve outlined in our requirements documents that Anduril and other companies have really gotten after with their development. Showcased in this video on the GhostX which is a Medium Range Reconnaissance platform materiel candidate solution (MCS) for the Joint Small UAS CDD Annex for MRR is their MCS for EW. Can you guess how many long time telemetry sets were gathered in one year in Orbit with the AFR satellite? And what can you do with such a wealth of Information? Here is the first part of a lessons learned series. Expand to learn more :) Almost 250,000 telemetry sets were collected in the first year in orbit. This allows for a number of interesting findings which we are using to further improve our satellites. In the following we will point out some parameters you should look at. While hardware changes cannot be done once the satellite is in orbit, it is often surprising how many software mitigations can be found if you apply some creative thinking. So what should you be looking at: System temperature: does your thermal models correlate with reality? System Currents: are there unexpected slow changes (degradation) or fast changes (events)? Reset Counter: are there unexpected resets and how many? Note: long term telemetry is collected when the satellite is idle, during imaging operation data is collected with a far higher cadence.
