The more #immediate #concern is the #rising #tax #burden on the #working #young as #national #health #care and #pension #costs rise relentlessly. #Countries with the lowest #fertility #rates – #Italy, #SouthKorea, #Japan, #Spain, #Greece, among others – will see ever-greater upward pressure on tax rates. Then what? #Employees who are taxed to #death will do one of four things: #evade taxes, #revolt, #endorse parties that #pledge tax cuts or move to low-tax countries. #Intergenerational #tension, or worse, #seems #inevitable. I suspect that the fertility problem in Italy, where families can no longer afford to #feed and #educate two or more #kids as the cost of everything from #rent to #fuel climbs, and in #Europe in general, will be worse than the official #forecasts suggest. The #vicious #circle already seems to be at play. With birth rates falling across the world, the global population is becoming increasingly older and smaller. Experts have traditionally predicted a future of labour shortages, overwhelmed social security systems and economic collapse. ‼️ REPLACEMENT MIGRATION - Not a Conspiracy Theory! The United Nations has a "Population Division" within its Department of Economic and Social Affairs, which has produced a comprehensive document called "Replacement Migration." Replacement migration involves the international migration necessary to counteract declines in a country's population size and the working-age demographic, as well as to address overall population aging. It is evident that combating population decline by strengthening families is not a priority. This model, and similar ones, are likely the basis for current migration policies, although leaders have not openly discussed this. They might not dare to! However, what these models fail to consider is the significant cultural shifts, including changes in religious ideologies, that will be imposed on existing citizens. They also do not account for potential unrest or civil conflict resulting from these policies.

The EU is facing an all time low in its working-age population. According to a recent article in the Financial Times "Crucially for economic growth and public finances, the EU’s working-age population, those aged 20-64, who contribute the bulk of tax revenues, shrank from a peak of 270mn in 2011 to an estimated 261mn this year, according to UN data. Relative to total population, the EU working-age group peaked at 61.4 per cent in 2008 and has now dropped to 58 per cent." https://lnkd.in/dm8xYRSp I find it hard to sympathise with this fact when there is a simple solution in plain sight yet the EU's racist policies prevent solutions from being reached. Instead the EU is spending millions (billions?) on stopping people in desperate need of safety and jobs from reaching their shores. According to Dubravka Šuica, the European Commission’s first ever vice-president for democracy and demography: “I can understand that people somehow feel like [they should] go far right . . . because they think that migrants will spoil their [nation’s] identity, but at the same time we cannot live without [immigrants].” So even from a cold-hard economically calculated standpoint it makes sense to let refugees and migrants in... #refugeeswelcome

This chart tells us about the future of Australia – our population will grow by 14% in the next decade (around 370,000 people each year.) That's more than 3.7 million people or roughly 3 Adelaides. It also shows which age groups are going to change the most over the next decade because three quarter of migrants are aged between 18 and 39

Last week Australia passed the 27 million population mark, less than two years after hitting 26 million. For the majority of Australians, the 27 million population millstone is a matter of deep concern... and not a cause for celebration. Of course our politicians & economists carry on as if somehow, simply opening up our borders, to a grossly over-populated world, and growing our population, is a major achievement! #PuertoRico's foreign-born #population dropped below 100,000 in 2018-2022, a decline of roughly 15,000 from a decade earlier. This drop was in line with an overall decline in Puerto Rico’s total population, which decreased from 3.7 million to 3.3 million between 2008-2012 and 2018-2022. While this trend may largely reflect falling #birth rates, the island was also hit by natural #disasters and economic crises that accelerated net #outmigration. #AmericaCounts #foreignborn
