OL&LA is what happens when you combine pedagogy, equity, and love. This course is what I would have offered to all of my SPED, interventionists, teacher's assistants, and ELA teachers. Both literacy instruction and intervention would have been- so much more intentional. You have to know the language code- you have to know the science.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

♥️ This is for the changemakers, the dreamers, and you—our incredible community of supporters who drive this mission with passion and heart. At The Grant Cardone Foundation, our mission is fueled by the unwavering passion of a community that understands the impact of mentorship, resources, and opportunities on the lives of underprivileged and at-risk youth. Here’s one key takeaway that hit me and Gosia Jaros-White hard as we headed back home after attending the National Summer Learning Association Summit this week: there’s no time for despair or fear. The challenges our kids face are real, but so is our collective power to overcome them. Yup, it’s time to exercise radical collaboration. We must mobilize passionately, tearing down silos and working together to create a future where all kids—regardless of their circumstances—can thrive. The positive energy at the summit was undeniable. For three days leaders, educators, policymakers, and advocates came together with one mission: to ensure every child has access to learning, opportunities, and fun. When we collaborate boldly and with purpose, we can eliminate barriers and inspire lasting change. It starts with showing up, speaking out, and taking action for the kids who need us the most. Here’s how: https://lnkd.in/eWpnJ6KF

SUPPORT CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION FOR CHILDREN IN POLAND We have proudly revived the global non-profit Destination Imagination program (https://lnkd.in/dUs55MPp) in Poland, one of the world’s largest initiatives dedicated to developing creativity in children and students. After a 16-year run - it died during COVID-19, but returned in the 2023-24 school year, with government backing, free to participants. Thank you Centrum Rozwoju Przemysłów Kreatywnych and Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego! The outcome was spectacular – hundreds of children from across Poland formed teams, working with their teachers for months to create innovative solutions, culminating in our national tournament in March 2024. See the excitement in action here: youtu.be/bz333lwTbgE (1 minute). Our top 8 teams proudly represented Poland at the Global Finals in Kansas City, competing alongside 650 teams from 27 countries. Their hard work paid off with 3 gold medals! Watch a glimpse of Poland’s success at the Global Finals: youtu.be/BRID8Kg35i0. Our work supports underserved communities, bringing top-tier STEAM-ART education and creative problem-solving to the next generation. The impact is life-changing – from improving mental health to providing career opportunities. Countless participants have told us that Destination Imagination "changed their lives" (youtu.be/dntLYGIXAdU), alumni get jobs at leading tech companies and rise to the top. Now, we face a critical challenge: securing funding to keep the program alive in 2024-25 - we can’t continue this mission without financial support. An article on the Polish NPR website: bit.ly/di-pl-fund. We are actively seeking funding and any advice or connections that can help us secure the resources to keep this remarkable program running. Can you help? Fundacja Rozwoju Kreatywności (Foundation for Creativity Development) - DI Affiliate Poland

One of the highlights of 2024 is our continued work with Lamont Elementary School District. Our partnership with Lamont began by developing a shared Framework for the Future through inclusive dialogue and community voice. Starting in 2023, we've supported educator-led innovation through cohorts, workshops, and micro-schools, creating coherent pathways for learner-centered practices district-wide. 🌟 Highlighting Our Soteria Solutions & Boise State: A Case Study 🌟 Soteria Solutions is proud to serve as the Strategic Planning and Assessment Technical Assistance (TA) provider for all OVW Campus Program grant recipients. In this capacity, we partnered closely with Adriane Bang, Associate Dean of Students at Boise State University, to help develop and implement their strategic plan. In year one of their grant, we guided Boise State through training and TA sessions, breaking down the strategic planning process into manageable steps. Adriane described our team as “energized, supportive, passionate, and patient.” As the grant progressed, years two and three focused on assessing and evaluating their efforts. Together, we honed their ability to articulate the "why" behind their work and to clearly convey their impact through a succinct pitch. We’re thrilled to spotlight Boise State’s success and the collaborative work that continues to foster safer and more supportive campus communities. As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of the transformative impact so many mentors have had on shaping who I am today. As such, I was truly elated to share my enthusiasm about the USC Mentorship Hub!!! American columnist, John Crosby, said “Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” You can become engaged as a mentor, mentee, or both by visiting mentorshiphub.sc.edu!
Growth. Mentorship. Connection. Hear from USC Young Alumni Council Past Chair, Hazel Bridges '15, on how Membership helps her give back to USC 👇
