This week, LazardProud, our LGBTQIA+ and ally employee resource group, hosted a silent auction to support the Brooklyn Community Pride Center, Inc. 26 items were up for bid during the event, ranging from an espresso machine, jewelry and tickets to see a Broadway musical. The Brooklyn Community Pride Center provides vital resources and support for the LGBTQ+ community, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all. We are proud to announce that we raised more than $4,270 in support of this incredible organization! Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. #LazardERG

Some thoughts I have about #PrideMonth this year and how organizations can support the LGBTQ+ members of key audiences.
At Slide Nine, we embrace diversity and inclusion not just as seasonal observances, but as pillars of our work culture. We proudly stand with the LGBTQ+ community, not just during Pride Month but every day. Through our unique philanthropy initiative, we empower our team members to make a difference by providing each with $1,000 to donate to causes of their choice that promote a safer, more equitable world. #HappyPride #Community #DEI

WHY IT MATTERS:
Thrilled that M&T Bank is supporting the Equality Community Center with $20,000 to further their mission and important work. We look forward to partnering with the ECC throughout the year and making a difference in our community! The Equality Community Center (ECC) in Portland is the first of its kind in Maine - a collaborative workplace for LGBTQ+ and allied social justice-seeking non-profit organizations while also serving as a community center for Maine’s LGBTQ+ community. My colleagues Mike Ross, Isaac Yeboah Yeboah, Katie Rooks of M&T Bank, and Wilmington Trust's Jerry Weidner of Wilmington Trust enjoyed a tour and presented a $20,000 donation to the ECC. “The funds from The M&T Charitable Foundation will support our efforts so we can continue to provide a space where everyone can be their authentic selves and thrive.” - Chris O’Connor, Executive Director, ECC Board

"While giving by younger generations is of great interest to the field, few studies have focused on this subset of wealthy, predominantly female donors, many who identify as queer or part of the LGBTQ+ community. For those who wish to grow social justice giving, the full report shares details on these donors’ motivations, behaviors, and challenges." Thanks to Savannah Turner for bringing this important report to my attention! #socialjustice #fundraising #youngdonors https://lnkd.in/eaY8M4w4

As Pride Month comes to a close, we reflect on the importance of inclusivity and solidarity.🌈✨ At Ringer Sciences, we stand with the LGBTQ+ community in celebrating diversity, equality, and love. This month, we dove deeper into the #CorporatePride conversation, from how the Fortune 100 marked the occasion, with 47% of companies participating, to social media discussions of brand involvement in Pride Month celebrations. From logo changes to charitable initiatives, brands showed their support in various impactful ways. Concurrently, consumer discussions highlighted the significance of brand involvement in Pride Month celebrations, focusing on the authenticity of support, the impact of donations, and community engagement. Let's continue to champion diversity and equality every day. #RingerSciences #PrideMonth #Inclusion #LGTBQ #RainbowCapitalism #F100

It's essential to address the issue of gatekeeping in funding allocation within organizations claiming to serve marginalized communities. The practice of using the "T" in LGBTQ to secure maximum funding for trans individuals, while not effectively supporting or serving them, is DIABOLICAL WORK. Many cisgender-led organizations prioritize funding over genuine service delivery to the trans community, even though local Trans-led organizations are actively engaged in providing essential support and services. This disparity highlights the need for transparency and accountability in resource allocation. As a Black Trans ED navigating funding opportunities, being aware of these challenges is crucial. Upholding integrity and ensuring that resources reach those who need them the most is key to fostering inclusivity and equity within the nonprofit sector. #FundingEquity #TransRights #NonprofitLeadership

Reminder: #Pride doesn't end just because June ends. At Centennial Peaks, all are welcome here - this fact is woven into the fabric of the work we do every day, not just #PrideMonth. In the spirit of continuing awareness, support and allyship, here's a snapshot of our bulletin board in our main hallway that reminds us every day. Here are five ways to continue allyship beyond the month of June: 1.) Educate yourself: Learn all about the history of the LGBTQ+ community, it's history and challenges. 2.) Donate: Give back to the LGBTQ+ community by donating to an affiliated non-profit. 3.) Increase LGBTQ+ Inclusivity in the Workplace: If your workplace doesn't have a culture that promotes LGBTQ+ inclusivity, speak to your manager about ways to be more inclusive to this community. 4.) Watch a documentary on The Stonewall Riots. Learn how it all began by watching an informative documentary on the Stonewall Riots and all the events that preceded and followed them. 5.) Be supportive: If someone you know is LGBTQ+, be a supportive friend on their journey. Though mental health is pervasive across humanity, marginalized groups tend to be at higher risk of struggling. Be an ally, educate yourself and be a good human!

A Critical Mission: Supporting Mental Health Among Black LGBTQ Youth Recent data highlights a concerning trend: Black youth who identify as LGBTQ are significantly more likely to contemplate suicide than their peers. This is not just a statistic; it's a call to immediate action. "A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman" is on the front lines, advocating for mental health support and intervention strategies tailored to the unique needs of Black LGBTQ youth. Our programs are designed to offer not just support, but empowerment, understanding, and paths to resilience. We need your help to reach more young people in need. Your donation can fund critical resources, support groups, and educational initiatives that make a tangible difference. Let’s unite in this vital effort to ensure that Black LGBTQ youth across the nation receive the support and affirmation they deserve. Your contribution today is an investment in a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.
