Our team recently sponsored and participated in the Infrastructure Summit, an event organized by the City of Irving and the North Texas Commission. Over two days, the expert panels discussed infrastructure challenges like water, energy, highways, transit and economic development. We also joined in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of North Central Texas Council of Governments’ Regional Transportation Council. The North Tarrant Express (NTE) and 35W managed lane corridors were recognized as one of the top achievements of the past two decades in fighting congestion and creating economic growth. Robert Hinkle, Director of Corporate Affairs for NTE Mobility Partners, moderated a keynote panel on highway infrastructure with Texas Department of Transportation colleagues Brian Barth, Deputy Executive Director, along with Ceason Clemens and David Salazar, District Engineers for Dallas and Fort Worth. While highlighting the success of the NTE, Texas’ first Public Private Partnership highway project, Hinkle directed a conversation about the current Unified Transportation Plan and projects being prioritized across the North Texas region and connectivity with the rest of the State. In October, the NTE will reach a 10 year milestone in corridor operations. During the past decade, 175 million trips have been made on the NTE, an average of 220,000 each day across all lanes. Right now, capacity is being added to the NTE in order to maintain the congestion relief and improved mobility that has been achieved through regional collaboration. #publicprivatepartnership #mobilitysolutions #p3 #northtexas
