Here’s a good way you can help.
In Valdosta, Georgia, where the winds of Helene sent towering pine trees crashing into homes and lawns, our army of volunteers is bringing hope In Jesus' Name. If you would like to be boots on the ground in Helene's path we encourage you to consider serving with our Valdosta team! We praise God that he has provided an abundance of incredible volunteers at our western N.C. response sites. However, we are still in need of day volunteers at all sites and overnight volunteers in Georgia and Florida! Visit https://bit.ly/3zFGCU3 to learn more about serving in Valdosta!

This whole week through Monday is tough for me. For probably ALL Veterans and Active Service Members. Memorial Day is next Monday. A day to remember and Honor those who have fallen. Usually while in service.. However, I include those who fell to the war at home among my list of those to Honor. Have lost too many over the years due to combat, training and vehicle accidents, self harm and others. I have an Ancestor Altar I have set up in my home for those who are my (and the hubby's) Ancestors. I also set up an altar for those who I Honor who were not family by blood. At this altar, I Honor those my hubby and I served with (we are both Retired Army), I also Honor those whom I help in their Journey onward as a Death Doula, I include those that Friends and Clients ask me to include as well. How do You Honor those you have lost? Do you have an Altar? What do you usually include on your Altars? I made a graphic to show a few items that are really common. There are No Wrong answers, and every practice is different and Valid! Some may add in a picture or item from the person. Share your ideas in the comments if you like. I love helping others expand their practice or get comfy in talking about stuff like this. Awareness is a great thing. So Much Love and Support, Niki #ancestoraltars #honoringthefallen #honoringancestors #altars #witch #honoringthedead #spiritual #magic #magick #learningmagick #lifecoach #acceptance #awareness #love #sharethehope #veteranowned #techwitchlair #techwitchniki

Take a moment to pause, honor, and be grateful for the little things.. ☕️“I get to go to work today” ☕️” I get to have coffee and catch up with a peer” ☕️“I get to do work that is meaningful and excites me” ✨You have the chance to engage in an activity that may be valuable, enjoyable, or fulfilling. This can foster a sense of gratitude and appreciation. ✨A desire to pursue a goal, learn a new skill, or experience something new. ✨It emphasizes personal agency and the ability to make choices about how to spend your time and energy, which can enhance one's sense of control over their life. ✨Viewing obligations as opportunities can shift one's mindset, turning potentially burdensome tasks into positive experiences. ✨Often, the things we "get to do" involve social interactions or contribute to community, highlighting the importance of relationships and collaboration.
Today, we pause to honor the lives forever changed by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We remember the heroes who bravely gave everything to save others, and we pledge to never forget their sacrifice. #NeverForget

Memorial Day was first designated as Decoration Day in 1868 to honour the fallen soldiers of the Civil War on BOTH sides - Union AND Confederate. It wasn’t made an official holiday though until 1971. Now we acknowledge this special day in the US solely to commemorate those soldiers who have fallen in service to the country in any conflict around the world. Did you know there are certain things you are not supposed to do on Memorial Day? The first and perhaps most important thing is NOT to wish anyone a Happy Memorial Day. It’s not a happy day or a happy holiday. It’s a special day where we recognize the ultimate sacrifice of someone in service to the country. Secondly, you don’t thank a working military person for their service. Again, this day is for fallen soldiers. But you can find ways to recognize the day and remember its true meaning. 🎇Go to a parade if your town has one. 🏛️Visit the Capitol (in person or virtually at Capital.gov). 🎗️Do something for the Armed Services like send care packages or donate to a cause that is important to the Armed Services. 🤫Take a moment of silence at 3pm local time - this is a national initiative. 👨🏻👩🏾👧🏼👦🏽And of course, have picnics or go to the beach with your family to celebrate the freedoms that the fallen have fought for. Whatever you do today, take a moment to remember the meaning of this very special day to honour and remember those who died serving the USA. Have a very special Memorial Day. #FourSquareMindfulness #MemorialDay #MemorialDay2024 #WeRemember #RememberTheFallen #remember #thankful #mindfulness #meditation #MindfulMeditation #gratitude #JustBreathe #LoveIsAVerb #LoveIsActivism #LoveLearningLiberation #DiversityIsOurStrength Photo by Wesley Tingey on Unsplash
