DSEU Kalkaji Lighthouse conducted a Job Fair on September 19th! Over 325 youth attended the fair for interviews, showing the immense potential of our community. We were happy to connect these youth with 15 top employers from Retail, BFSI, IT, and Hospitality. Thanks to Pizza Hut India, KFC India, iExperts ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Tim Hortons India, TeamLease Skills University | Putting India to Work (hiring for McDonald's), MyMoneyMantra, Wow! Momo, and FuturzHR (hiring for PVR Cinemas) for participating and offering amazing opportunities! Their commitment to providing opportunities to our youth is invaluable. 145 youth were selected on the spot, and an additional 34 were shortlisted for further consideration. The GOYN Bhubaneshwar team of Lighthouse Communities Foundation recently hosted a workshop on the Skill Sector Transformation Initiative for the IT & ITES sector, bringing together 14 leading agencies to discuss skilling and hiring youth. Industry experts like Mr. Manish Kumar Pandey (Infosys) and Mr. Avinash Samal (Tata Consultancy Services) shared valuable insights, while Mr. Smrutiranjan Biswal (National Skill Development Corporation) provided crucial perspectives. Our young learners from Lighthouse participated in discussions, exploring employment opportunities, tackling interview challenges, and overcoming career roadblocks. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the experts who shared their valuable knowledge and experience. Yesterday, 5 Lighthouse centers in Wadgoansheri, Tingrenagar, Bibwewadi, Kondhwa, and Wanowrie hosted an Alumni Meet for Lighthouse Alumni. Over 140 alumni participated, sharing their inspiring stories of hard work and dedication that led to successful placements. On September 8th, our Youth Advisory Group (YAG) took part in a full-day training on Equity Leadership at Bhavani Peth Lighthouse. From understanding identities and intersectionality to creating inclusive action plans, the day was filled with learning and growth. Participants loved exploring the Impact of Exclusion and discovering how diversity and inclusion can shape our world. As I reflect on my 5-year journey with Lighthouse Communities Foundation, I realize how much I've grown, not just as a professional but as a person committed to creating meaningful change. When I first joined, I was driven by a vision to change the world, but what I've learned along the way is that true change starts from within. Every project, every interaction with the youth and women we serve, has not only impacted them but has transformed me in profound ways. One of the turning points for me was when I started mentoring a group of young women who had never considered themselves capable of achieving their dreams. Through our sessions, I saw their confidence grow, but what struck me most was how their resilience and determination began to influence my own mindset. I started realizing that if I wanted to see real change in the world, I had to embody that change first—through patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to personal growth. The challenges I've faced have taught me that change doesn't happen overnight, but through small, consistent efforts. Whether it was working late to design a program or listening to someone's story when they needed it the most, each moment contributed to the larger vision I hold. I've learned that leadership is not just about guiding others; it's about constantly evolving, reflecting, and challenging myself to be better. Today, as I look ahead, my vision for change is clearer than ever. I know that the work we do at Lighthouse is not just about helping others; it's about building a community where everyone, including myself, is continuously learning, growing, and striving to be the best version of themselves. On September 13th, RBL Bank Ltd. supported Ambivili Lighthouse welcomed Ms. Ashwini Pranay Pawar, Manager CSR (Compliance) at RBL Bank Ltd., and Mr. Sagar Kabra, Director - Operations at GTT Foundation. Over 50 Lighthouse youth had the opportunity to interact with them and gain insights into RBL Bank’s transformational initiatives. The visit included a tour of the Lighthouse centre, a glimpse into the ongoing Foundation Course, and hearing the inspiring stories of transformation from Lighthouse Alumni. The visit culminated in a certificate distribution ceremony for our recent Foundation Course youth.
