Recently, I've made some meaningful changes that have helped me grow as a happier, more confident person. I thought I'd share some of these as they have had a profound impact on both my professional success and personal fulfillment:
1. Take a Class - I was eager to learn more about environmental biology, so I enrolled in an independent course. It was an investment well worth it, boosting my confidence and enabling me to contribute to conversations on a whole new level. It also inspired me to return to school for my grad studies.
2. Join Toastmasters - The impromptu speeches at every meeting have significantly changed the way I think on my feet. The community of people you will meet that are excited and have a desire to learn and grow will change your life.
3. Build Your Support System - Find a group of people who share your values, cheer you on, and push you to grow. Talk to them OFTEN - EVERY week, if not EVERY day!
4. Volunteer - The connections you make will bring you so much joy. People who volunteer are a special blend of kindness, positivity, and selflessness that you'll want to surround yourself with.
5. Get a Mentor - Write down your goals and share them with a mentor. Ask them to hold you accountable. Hold yourself accountable.
Each of these steps has had a significant impact on my life and why I wanted to share. I am grateful for where I am, where I've been and where I'm going and hope you are all enjoying your journey along the way as well!
