🏍️ Attention Fellow Riders and Arizonans! 🚗💨 📢 Big news in our state! Senator Jake Hoffman has introduced SB1010 and SCR1002, aiming to keep our roads free from Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) taxes. Here's why this is great news for us motorcyclists, and frankly, all Arizonans who cherish the freedom of the open road: 1. 🛵 **No Extra Mileage Costs**: These bills protect us from additional fees based on how much we ride. More rides, no worries about extra taxes! 2. 🌎 **Encouraging Efficient Travel**: Motorcycles are often more fuel-efficient. This legislation indirectly supports our choice of sustainable and fun transportation. 3. 💸 **Economic Relief for All**: Preventing VMT taxes means everyone saves money, especially in areas where driving is the only option. 4. 🗽 **Freedom of Movement**: It upholds our freedom to travel without financial penalties based on distance – a core value for many of us. 👉 How can you help? Use Arizona's "Request to Speak" system to voice your support. It's a powerful tool that lets us directly influence our state's legislation. Let's band together and make our voices heard! These bills will be heard in the Senate Transportation, Technology and Missing Children Committee tomorrow morning (1/16) at 9a. 📣 Share this with your friends, family, and fellow riders. Let's unite for the cause and show our support for SB1010 and SCR1002! Abate of Arizona is fighting for your right to ride free. #ArizonaRidersUnite #NoVMTinAZ #RideFree #IRideIVote #MotorcycleFreedom #AZLegislation 🏜️🏍️🇺🇸

Mileage Claims⠀ ⠀ If you use your own car for your employment or for your own business you can claim tax relief on the mileage. ⠀ ⠀ If your employer does not pay the full rate you can claim tax relief on the difference. ⠀ ⠀ For cars this the rate is currently 45p per mile (reducing to 25p after 10,000 miles), motorbikes are 24p per mile and bicycles are 20p per mile.⠀ ⠀ If you have a company car and pay for your own fuel you can only claim the fuel element of the claim which changes each quarter and depends on your engine size and fuel type. ⠀ ⠀ The electricity rate for an electric car is currently 9p per mile.

Protect Your Aircraft Leasing Tax Deductions from the IRS Hobby Loss Rule Owning an aircraft through a leasing activity has its perks—defraying ownership costs by leasing to charter companies, deferring sales and use tax through leasing structures, and gaining increased liability protection by owning the aircraft in a separate entity. However, these benefits can be jeopardized by the IRS's hobby loss rules, which may limit your deductions and lead to unfair tax liabilities. The IRS recently announced that it will be closely scrutinizing private jet usage. Now more than ever, it's crucial to ensure your aircraft leasing activity qualifies as a legitimate business, not a hobby. Stay informed and protect your investments. #AircraftLeasing #TaxDeductions #IRS #BusinessAviation #TaxPlanning #AircraftOwnership

Respectfully, Pierre, there is a much bigger opportunity here for you to act in the best interests of Canadians. The problem that needs fixing is that Federal government procurement for IT is stuck in 1970s-era processes of 'supply arrangements'. Google 'TBIPS' or 'SBIPS' for examples. I know this because I have worked in it. It's very old, very cumbersome, and not 'fit for purpose'. In that archaic framework, the company that is a pre-approved vendor for one or other of the 'contracting vehicles' has something like a Willy Wonka 'Golden Ticket'. That is the fortunate position GC Strategies was in i.e. to engage outside services quickly, the gov folks turned to pre-approved vendors; who naturally took their cut. The ineptitude of the developers and lack of government management oversight has exposed the underlying issue of graft, but it happens all over and I could point you at ten other very similar middlemen broker companies operating in Ottawa. But respectfully, even if 5% of total Federal IT spending vanishes into various middlemen's pockets in this way, it is still chump change compared to: THE BIG OPPORTUNITY! Please investigate instead all those 'offshore' companies who use their 'onshore' Canadian storefront to secure their very own golden tickets only to then deliver 95% of the work they win with offshore resources. That's folks being paid for with Canadian taxpayers' dollars who DO NOT pay taxes in Canada, working for companies (Wipro, Tata, IBM, Accenture, Infosys etc.) that do their level best to pay corporate taxes in the lowest tax jurisdictions (er...not Canada). Three years ago I learned that Stats Canada estimates that 300,000 full-time equivalent IT jobs worth of services are currently being paid for by the Public Sector in Canada (including Federal, Provincial, Municipal, Crown Corps & Agencies & Education) but being delivered by OFFSHORE resources. That's the true scandal of 'your tax dollars at work' in Canadian public sector IT procurement Pierre, and YOUR government can do something about it. We're talking billions of dollars being leached out of our economy. P.S. Public Sector IT work potentially offers some of the last remaining 'proper job' career opportunities for those of our kids who are racking up mountainous debt while earning their IT degrees. What of them and their futures? WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT! Back to the bigger win and how you achieve it: Overhaul Federal procurement for IT services to prohibit the offshoring of vast amounts of our pubic finances, and replace it with a leaner more modern approach (not a system!!) that makes it easier for Canadian-owned IT enterprises to win government work, and where you do need a big company, make it an auditable requirement to deliver big chunks of it with Canadian IT talent. I'll leave it there for now, but boy I would love to see a future GoC CIO take this on! That would be true Digital Transformation ;) Sincerely Ashley Burns
