Navigating Our Interplanetary Ambitions | Host of Space Cafe Podcast | Director | Author | Producer | Terra Mater Studios
You are Gen T - and there is no turning back. As a #space #podcaster, I've had the privilege to converse with brilliant minds that gaze into the stars, dreaming of the next #frontier. Yet, the final frontier isn't just beyond our atmosphere; it's also within the intricate digital ecosystems we're weaving right here on #Earth. At this year's SXSW, futurist Amy Webb presented a compelling #outlook for the technological landscape of 2024, introducing the concept of a technological #supercycle. This isn't just about one transformative technology, but a "perfect storm" of three converging fields: ➡️ Artificial intelligence, ➡️ Connected ecosystems of things, and ➡️ Biotechnology. Such a confluence, Webb argues, places our generation, #GenT, at the heart of a transition into something profoundly new and #uncharted. The parallel between exploring space and navigating this technological supercycle is striking. Just as we push the boundaries of space exploration, seeking new worlds and knowledge, we are now on the #cusp of a digital era that promises to #redefine human existence. Webb's observation that large language models are voraciously consuming internet data and may soon hunger for new sources to sustain AI's path towards Artificial General Intelligence (#AGI) underscores the magnitude of this shift. The anticipated surge of connected devices collecting data at unprecedented scales could feed AI systems in ways we've only begun to imagine. So get ready for a wide range of new toys and devices dropping in the coming years ready to turn you into data on our path toward AGI. Gen T - here we come. What can go wrong. I'll add some more thoughts on this in a later post as its been a very long day and I am hungry :) What is your take on all this? #SpaceExploration #TechnologicalSupercycle #FutureTrends #GenT #ArtificialIntelligence #Biotechnology #ConnectedEcosystems #SpacePodcaster #SXSW2024 #Innovation #DigitalFrontier #AGI #DataRevolution #AmyWebb #FutureOfAI #TechTrends #SpaceAndTech #DigitalEra #ExplorationAndInnovation #SpaceCommunity

Digital Management presso H-farm | Aiuto le aziende B2B ad utilizzare al meglio gli asset di comunicazione digitale
Who said working with data is boring? Especially when it comes to environmental data, everyone should have the opportunity to access and engage with it. This has been our focus for the NASA International Space Apps Challenge. During this ideas marathon, we planted the seed for an educational tool designed to empower everyone to help change the world for a better future. In less than 24 hours With more than 24 cans of Red Bull It all started with 6 students challenging themselves to solve global problems. It all started with brainstorming, generating ideas, and disruptive creativity. It all started with jokes and “this is bigger than us.” But then, it shifted to focus, hard work, and getting things done. With less than 12 hours to go, we knew what we needed to do. A first-person, open-world, hyper-realistic videogame. Sounds kinda impossible, right? Let me rephrase it: -- An engaging educational tool (or educational game) with three goals. Think of it this way: ↦ You can access over 23 million measurements from The GLOBE Program in an understandable, simple and engaging way. ↦ You can use this data, along with some creativity, to find and implement the best solutions aligned with GLOBE program protocols. ↦ Most importantly, you can actually see how your decisions, behaviors, and implemented solutions impact the world. 👉 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯 2025 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘪𝘯 2050. 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭𝘴? -- Well, sounds straightforward when put into words, but you ask about our result after 24 hours of non-stop work? Just a small demo and a 3min presentation But is often said that ideas are like seeds — if they find the right environment, they grow. Isn't it? We surely nurtured ours and helped it take root. So the next step is to 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 and blossom in a natural and sustainable environment It's up to you, share the vision! Thanks to all the teams member, you made this H-ack special. Day 2 of the SXSW Pitch event - category Innovative World Technologies (with a space 🚀 touch!) - here's some of the great startups pitching: Cephable: "not just a technology company, but a movement", a movement towards more inclusive, efficient, and empowering digital future for people with disabilities. Cephable is moving digital interaction beyond the mouse and keyboard (you can download their software right now and start using it for free on Mac and Windows!) Coordle - Here's to the future of group travel management, with great energy Jen Fry, PhD (she/her) presented their solution (see picture) combining the functions of the many tools that group travel requires into one platform. Monte Caldera Technologies Inc.: developing artificial intelligence “discovering” materials without a physical component first. It can more and more accurately model and predict material properties in-silico, saving money on then testing with actual physics. Skyline Nav AI Inc.: 4 billion people live or work in urban canyons with poor GPS connectivity. With this solution you can geolocate without GPS, cellular or wifi within 10 seconds. Skyline finds terrain features and skylines matching them with real locations. "It is like having the knowledge of a local taxi driver!" I am impressed with the 5 meter accuracy Skyline's Kanwar Singh is claiming. Space-related side note: this could potentially help NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration land and navigate on the Moon in the future as well - without a satellite constellation providing location information! #SXSW2024 #SXSWPitch

🚀 "How do you turn a seemingly insurmountable challenge into a groundbreaking solution?" 🚀 This was the question that echoed in our minds as we stepped into the Bharatiya Antariksh Hackathon 2024, organized by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This premier event is not just a hackathon; it's a launchpad for the next generation of space tech innovators. Our team was tasked with a problem statement that seemed straight out of a sci-fi novel: "Feature Extraction from Remote Sensing High-Resolution Data using AI/ML." Think about it—identifying high tension towers, windmills, electric substations, brick kilns, and farmbunds from vast expanses of satellite imagery. The stakes were high, and the challenge was daunting. But here's the kicker: challenges are opportunities in disguise. We dove headfirst into the problem, leveraging the power of AI and Machine Learning. The initial data set was overwhelming, but we broke it down, piece by piece. Our strategy? Simplify the complex. We developed algorithms that could sift through the noise and identify key features with pinpoint accuracy. The turning point came when we realized that collaboration was our secret weapon. We pooled our diverse skill sets—data science, engineering, and domain expertise. Each team member brought a unique perspective, and this synergy was our game-changer. The result? A robust solution that not only met the problem statement but also opened new avenues for remote sensing applications. We transformed a complex challenge into a streamlined process, proving that with the right approach, even the most formidable problems can be solved. So, what's the takeaway here? Embrace challenges. Break them down. Collaborate. Innovate. What challenges have you faced that seemed insurmountable at first? How did you overcome them? Share your stories in the comments below. If you found this post insightful, give it a like and repost it to inspire others. My teammates: Saikat Manna, Ibrahim Mallick #Innovation #SpaceTech #ISRO #Hack2skill #Hackathon

Let's talk about school, societal pressure, conformity. The industrial revolution required humans to work like robots. 'Do NOT colour outside the lines, bad child, you are not creative.' The information age requires us to constantly adapt, change and grow. DO colour outside the lines or .... Well, we don't quite know what that 'or...' is going to mean yet. But we ARE still educating our children with the industrial model in mind. And we exert that kind of peer pressure on each other and we don't question any assumptions about how we raise and educate ourselves. Normal is becoming a liability. Thanks Lord Simon J. for the reminder this morning. I might be weird, maybe even a little crazy, but that allows me to see things that normal won't even consider thinking about, let alone engaging with. And you can too. It's in you. NASA says so. Why not just let the judgement go? Step into uncertainty, embrace complexity and ambiguity and go looking for new answers. This is the road to a more adaptable, forward-looking, sustainable future. Come and look forwards with me. #juststart #bethechange #behaviourchange #rebelrejectcreate
