HEAL for Black People is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of Black Health Equity Day (BHED) on October 12th, during Black History Month. BHED is a campaign by HEAL for Black People with support from the Black community. Our mission is to uncover and address the health disparities faced by Black communities across the UK. At the LDN inspire Black Health Equity Summit in March 2024, we received a call to action by the inspiring words of Prof. Kevin Fenton CBE Prof. Bola Owolabi, MRCGP MFPH(Hon), FRSPH, Prof Habib Naqvi MBE & Prof. Margaret Ikpoh. Given the recent highly charged environment for people of colour in the UK, this initiative is more critical than ever. BHED is not just a day—it's a movement aimed at raising awareness, sharing vital information, and inspiring action towards achieving health equity. As we build up to this pivotal day, we will share personal stories and key statistics. Hear from stakeholders and experts about the urgent need for health equity and the steps we can take together.
