In today's ever-increasing fast-paced work environment, leaders often have to remind their teams to take a beat, take a breath, and take a look back at what their defined purpose is and how they work most successfully together. Here are seven fundamental best practices of high-performing teams: 1️⃣ Commit to a common purpose - All members of the team understand and agree on the "why." Without clear alignment on purpose, the door is open for different interpretations of the approach and outcome. 2️⃣ Establish clear rules of operation - This critical step defines each team member's role, responsibility, and the team's key decision-making factors along the way. 3️⃣ Make effective team decisions - All team members clearly understand how decisions are made and by whom. In addition, the team doesn't settle for easy and obvious answers to tough problems - they agree to push through for the best results. 4️⃣ Communicate openly - Every team member commits to giving accurate, timely feedback to the group and participates in routine discussions of problems, issues, policies, fears, concerns, disappointments, and frustrations. 5️⃣ Commit to the team - High levels of performance are only achieved by working together as a team, not as individuals. EVERYONE is accountable for making the team successful. 6️⃣ Value differences - The most impactful results come from diversity of thought, experience, and background. Every team member commits to the others' insights, feedback, and communication style. 7️⃣ Follow through - This requires discipline! High-performing teams hold regular meetings, measure their progress, and make their plans and timelines visible. Some of the most skilled and knowledgeable teams fail because they fail to follow through. #leadership #leadershiptips #team #culture #excellence

Seasoned leaders know in order to create sustainable growth with meaningful impact, it's critical to foster a culture where individuals and teams feel safe to innovate. Merely following the rules and procedures might ensure a compliant environment, but has the potential to stifle innovation, creativity, and collaboration. Encouraging proactive yet calculated risk-taking can unlock big results. And to achieve big results, teams have to be inspired, not managed. #leadershiptips #leadership #culture #team #excellence
