Let’s talk about how you closed your first customer—not your first investor. As founders, we often share stories about how many investors said no before that first yes. While these anecdotes are inspiring, I believe we should also focus on another critical milestone: landing your first customer. For us at LivLyt (Acquired by ZenAdmin), our first customer came from an unexpected place. It was our marketing agency, which was working on our product launch. They believed in our vision and loved our product (device-as-a-service) so much that they decided to become a paying customer even before we officially went live. How did you acquire your first customer? The actual money that matters for business!

DAY 5: FIGHTING OUR WAY OUT IN PUBLIC (Picture: client feedback) How's it going? Honestly? It's been incredible. We've received thousands of messages of support, and I'm beyond moved. Sessions is already bigger than I ever imagined. Is it comfortable? Not at all. Talking openly about our start-up drama, laying it all bare, and working through this mess in public is tough. But here's the thing: Something sure about start-ups is that "you must learn to be comfortable while uncomfortable—this is the only way." Yesterday, we had a two-hour AMA with our amazing community. Is radical transparency the way forward? Hell yes. Our community is more engaged than ever, and it's clear that people are rooting for Sessions to succeed. How being open about this will help? My answer: This is the only way. If what we're doing makes sense—if people need what we're building—Sessions will not only survive but thrive.
