You might have heard that the VA is sending out stimulus checks to disabled veterans. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s not true. The VA won't be issuing any stimulus checks to disabled veterans. Please disregard any misinformation suggesting that disabled veterans are eligible for stimulus booster payments of up to $3,600. It’s simply not true. VA disability compensation is provided to veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 10% or more. Those with a rating of 30% or higher can also receive tax-free compensation for their dependents. Certain disabled veterans may be eligible for Special Monthly Compensation, an additional benefit provided by the VA to help with specific disabilities or combinations of disabilities. When individuals with disabilities actively participate in sports as athletes, coaches, officials, or spectators, they become an integral part of the sporting environment. Empowerment stems from being engaged in meaningful ways within the sports community. There are Grants for Adaptive Sports Programs for Disabled Veterans and Disabled Members of the Armed Forces (Equine Assisted Therapy) Department of Veterans Affairs /National Veterans Sports Programs.
