'Corrupt Governments And Their Disregard For Rule Of Law' Today, we look at another negative effect of the wicked problem above. Loss of Public Confidence: Corruption damages public trust in government institutions and erodes social cohesion. When citizens perceive their leaders as self-serving and corrupt, they may become apathetic towards civic engagement, leading to a decline in political participation and a loss of faith in the ability of the state to address pressing societal challenges (Transparency International, 2019; Uslaner, 2005).

The #intentional #creation of #misinformation by certain political actors may stem from various motives, such as gaining support, #discrediting #opponents, or #manipulating #public #perception. The root problem may, in part, be related to the #ethics and #responsibility of #politicians. Improving the quality of politics and governance, along with promoting #transparency and #accountability, are crucial aspects to address these issues and strengthen trust in political institutions. In situations where #judicial #control is influenced by the same politicians, independence is compromised. In these cases, promoting democratic governance may involve efforts to strengthen the separation of powers. Civil society and #international #organizations can play a crucial role by advocating for reforms, fostering #transparency, and pushing for #impartial #justice. Additionally, #active #citizen participation and informed voting are essential to drive #changes in the desired direction. World Economic Forum European Commission Saadia Zahidi

The Rule of Law-->Safeguarding Equality and Rights Honouring the Rule of Law is extraordinarily important to maintain fairness, and justice. Doing so, in its pure form, guarantees all, regardless of status, equality before the law. It safeguards individual rights and liberties and provides a legal framework that guides behaviour and aids in conflict resolution. Moreover, the Rule of Law serves as a vital check on government and its officials’ power. The predictability of such systems augments societal and economic stability and growth by creating a secure and predictable environment for investment and business. Where societies have neglected the Rule of Law numerous negatives consequences have followed. They witness arbitrary governance, erosion of human rights, economic instability, rampant corruption, and increased social inequality. The absence of legal safeguards leads to a breakdown of trust culminating in civil unrest or conflict. Additionally, these societies suffer poor cross nation relations and a decline in the quality of life across their nations. As a result, I consider it imperative for all (states, legal systems, and individuals} worldwide to commit to the Rule of Law. The commitment should extend be yond words to action, making sure policies and practices across the system and nation guarantee justice and accountability for all, and not just for the privileged or powerful. Strengthening the Rule of Law is a MUST—in fact an imperative, moral MUST, that is central to an equitable, stable, and prosperous society #ruleoflaw #governance #justice #legalinsights #societalimpact

...democracy unchecked... So, in this age of democracy unchecked by institutions, what does it really mean for governance and politics to be successful institutions? The first, government must regain public trust by attracting real public servants instead of power-hungry demagogues, lest it lose more validity in the watchful eye of the public. Politics, secondly assisted by civil society, must support popular sovereignty, where elected officials must be accountable to the people. This attitude also applies to the new opposition, which, by distancing itself from current politics, thinks that it will be at an advantage in future politics. The toxic politics of divorces and political comebacks without changing parts of the institutional system have been harmful as they have killed hope and it seems that there is still no approach by new aspirants in politics that differentiates the past from the present. The new anti-establishment politics must distinguish between the rotten part of active politics in the political market and identify itself as part of the causes that require union and not exclusion. Important for anyone who distances himself from politics in power is only the approach of institutional loyalty. This does not mean overthrowing a political class to create an opportunity for a new class or to act independently of the executive branch. https://lnkd.in/dVWS4SGK #erosionofinstitutions #institutions #ethics #governmentofalbania #politicalelite #democracyunchecked @anyone

After the successful elections, I wish for good fortune and blessings for our country. It's crucial for all citizens to recognize the fundamental importance of law, justice, fighting corruption, and transparency - these are the cornerstones of a thriving society, more essential than basic necessities on an international scale. Reflecting on the words of Prophet Muhammad, 'By Allah, if Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, stole, I would cut off her hand,' and Caliph Umar's principle, 'Justice is the foundation of governance,' it's clear that these timeless values are pivotal for societal development. The insights of economists Prof. Dr. Daron Acemoglu and Prof. Dr. Mahfi Eğilmez, who assert that 'without law, the economy cannot improve,' further underscore the interdependence of legal integrity and economic prosperity. It's imperative that we all grasp the significance of international law, human rights, and fair trials. We must advocate for the enforcement of international legal standards, including the rulings of the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, the European Court of Human Rights, the United States Department of Justice, and The Hague, even for those we may consider adversaries. Observations suggest that many, including some of our most esteemed and affluent legal professionals, seek selective justice that spares them material or moral consequences. This selective approach to law undermines the very fabric of our legal system and societal values. The elections present an opportunity to lay the groundwork for a peaceful, just, and lawful society. However, it appears that the public's current focus is primarily on the economic situation and a reaction to visible corruption, bribery, theft, and undeserved enrichment. The insights of Prof. Dr. Acar Baltaş and Çetin Altan, which I've shared repeatedly, remain relevant in understanding these dynamics. I hope to be proven wrong, and I pray that our country becomes a global leader in democracy, human rights, law, justice, merit-based employment, and transparency, reaping the economic and prosperity benefits that come with these values. #HumanRights #Ethics #Justice #Democracy #Elections #Transparency #Law

There is corruption in the AEC as well. One way to mitigate preference rorting is to vote bottom up! VOTE_3-MAJORS_BOTTOM-3! Effectively, once bottom three ballot boxes are filled with unconscionable Major Partys, vote with conscience for the local candidate that most closely aligns to your community's needs and values. This also the beginning of decentralization. With modern tech we can run government remotely. Must get rid of Greenwashing first. 🤠
