I would only add to this, if you are a leader make it sound genuine. I have seen leaders saying they appreciate their workers before, but it does not sound like they mean it, or their actions show otherwise.

This is so true and it works very well. Seeing companies that are big or even huge, gives an impression, that such things like: respect, apparitions, honor and people value is on the high level. Often it's not like that. Such companies scratch their heads to figure out what went wrong when employees are going away, even when they are well paid. This is a major difference between the old times, when an Employee was seeking for a job. Now, it's like the job is seeking for an employee, not the other way around. The roles has changed. So instead of firing someone because he or she has made too many mistakes at work, lets put more pressure on the understanding why such a person has made a mistake in the first place and improve the process. Lets focus on developing people skills and inspire them to do more that they can even believe is possible. :))) regards to JGS AMS 2008-2011. Ps. People don't quit their jobs, they quit their leaders. And this is a big difference :))

Appreciation can be meaningless IF a leader is just saying a few words to check a box. TRUE appreciation can only be expressed by a leader who is committed to knowing each person on their team well enough to call out strengths, recognize progress, and know when support is needed. Appreciation and valuing people go hand in hand.

💯 And it’s really important to appreciate people not just for what they do ie appreciation of their work but also sincerely appreciate them for being on the team, for choosing to give their time and be there when there are so many other choices they could have made. Thank your people for simply being there as well as for the work they perform. Both aspects genuinely and regularly done go an incredibly long way to making your staff feel great and motivated to give their all. And the best thing apart from a little time is that appreciation is free to give ….in my opinion it’s far more effective than continuously throwing performance bonuses in their direction!

This seems so straightforward and easy to do. You would be surprised at how much a simple thank you means to people. Many times when we feel unappreciated the best medicine is to go out and appreciate others. It will not only have a positive impact on them, but on you as well. Unfortunately in our results driven world today we notice when something goes wrong and completely gloss over the things that people are doing well. Get out of your office and off of your computer or device and thank someone for their hard work this week. You’ll be glad you did.

A true leader will show appreciation even when things go wrong and mistakes are made. They appreciate the person behind the process and know that they can improve with guidance and compassion. Appreciation should be a natural day to day activity, not a special event.

Appreciation isn't just what you say, it's what you do. Appreciate your team not just with your words, but with your actions. That's where true leadership begins. 🙌
