Following the exciting news from SAMHSA about Washington state being awarded a $1 million CCBHC Medicaid Demonstration Program planning grant, the gears immediately started turning at the systemic level regarding the implementation of the model. So, how are providers ensuring they will be CCBHC-ready? Our member CEOs addressed that question and more at the WA State of Reform Health Policy Conference on January 9. During a panel discussion on CCBHCs, Tom Sebastian, CEO of Compass Health, and Katrina Egner, CEO of Sound, joined Wendy Sisk, CEO of Peninsula Behavioral Health, and Joan Miller, CEO of the Washington Council for Behavioral Health, to help illuminate the challenges facing our behavioral health landscape – and the opportunities ahead. For a full recap of their conversation and additional information about our member organizations' path to CCBHC readiness, visit: https://lnkd.in/g8biWwF5

We are thrilled to highlight our collaboration with UnitedHealthcare, which awarded Appalachian Mountain Health a generous $750K grant in August 2024 to fund a new two-room primary care mobile medical van. This initiative is a game-changer for Western North Carolina, where nearly 3 million people live in areas with a shortage of health professionals. Our current one-room van has already reached capacity, and the new van—expected in early 2025—will enable us to provide primary care, behavioral health, wound care, and chronic disease management in a comfortable and private space, rain or shine. “This will allow us to meet the demand at accessible locations while ensuring the dignity and health of our patients,” - Director of Community Medicine, Summer Hettinger. Together, we are bridging health gaps and building a healthier WNC! #MobileCare #HealthEquity #UnitedHealthCare #AppMtnHealth #TheAMHWay

As I finish my course on Health Systems Strengthening here at the UniversitätsKlinikum Heidelberg, I wanted to share something. Many of my #Texas friends and family are unaware of what is happening with health systems in Texas. Texas had the most hospital closures in the nation and it is becoming a trend in #RepublicanParty states who chose not to implement #MedicaidExpansion. This video illustrates what the future of #EmergencyHealthCare could be like. Please read the article in my comments section. https://lnkd.in/dnRhbUFd

Lots of familiar faces from PA in this video!
Community Health Center funding is on the line: Hundreds of health center leaders traveled to DC this month to meet with members of Congress and ask them to remember the 32.5 million patients who rely on health centers in year-end funding bills. NACHC is grateful to everyone who joined the December Fly-In Day or took action at home by calling or emailing their elected officials. Thanks to the following leaders for participating in this video: Wade Erickson, CEO of Horizon Health; Elmo Lopez, CEO of GATEWAY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER INC;, Sharon Kidd, Board Member of LifeLong Medical Care; and Dr. Felix Valbuena, CEO of CHASS Center. #ValueCHCs #CHCpatients

On November 13th, our CEO, Dr. Christopher Licskai, joined a panel of healthcare leaders to discuss how Ontario can connect people living with chronic conditions to team-based primary care. The panel, moderated by Dr. Cathy Faulds (Board Chair, Ontario Medical Association & Best Care), explored tangible solutions and highlighted Best Care as an exemplar physician-led, integrated chronic disease management program. Best Care's model has already created a tangible impact in improving patient quality of life and patient experience, improving care provider experience and creating more than $31 million in cost savings across the health system by reducing hospitalizations and emergency visits. The panelists also explored other opportunities to improve access to team-based primary care for people living with chronic disease, including: - Sustainability and scalability of proven models like Best Care. - The critical role of team-based care in improving patient experience and quality of life. - Need for innovative approaches to implement existing tools and resources effectively. - The importance of disease prevention and proactive care.
