𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. We have gone ALL IN. We are backing ourselves and building an on-farm training and event facility. Why? Because I believe wholeheartedly in learning in a natural environment - and that providing learning and development frameworks that are kinesthetic, hands-on, experiential & "practice in real time uncertainty" leadership and team experiences - brings results. Studies have shown that people who engage in outdoor, nature-based activities experience a 20% increase in creativity and problem-solving skills (Stanford University). Imagine combining that with the powerful feedback that horses provide! Our horse-focussed workshops not only fosters innovation, but also promotes mental clarity and emotional well-being. 🌟 Why Collaborating with Horses Transforms Leadership and Team Dynamics.. When was the last time you stepped out of the office, not just for a meeting or a lunch break, but to engage in an experience that deeply impacted your personal and professional growth? Horses are incredibly intuitive and respond to human emotions and energy. They offer honest, non-verbal feedback that helps individuals and teams uncover hidden dynamics, improve communication, and build trust. Working with horses in a natural setting isn't just about “team-building activities”—it's about working toward solid, impactful objectives and achieving real, tangible outcomes - all while engaging with the benefits of play and a huge amount of fun! A study by the University of Exeter found that employees who have access to natural settings report a 13% higher level of overall well-being and are 8% more productive. Connecting with nature and animals allows individuals to reset, recharge, and return to work with renewed energy and focus. As we cross over the hump of the year, if you’re looking to offer your team an INCREDIBLE experience, consider our EquiLEAD or AgriLEAD (for rural sector) workshops. Our herd would love to help guide your team toward greater connection, growth, and success in the months ahead. Let’s make the second half of the year truly transformative! Projects typically have a start, middle and end. Depending on the size of the project, it can be done in an hour, a year or 15. Little Go Getters as a project started in 2022. That was the start, we are still determining if we are in the middle yet, but some of our resources are. Little Go Getters #Australia is in the middle of having book 4 of the six-book series being illustrated. Watching the Australian series illustrator at work with book 3, Racing for a Reason!, is getting us all excited about completing this six-book series fostering enterprising behaviours in 4 to 7-year-olds. #Youth #YouthEmpowerment #Enterprise

Can the mentoring principles be the same for athletic endeavors and professional development? Grooming my daughter for her first Aquathlon race drew surprising parallels to mentoring and grooming my financial advisors within my team. Both scenarios required a delicate blend of guidance, encouragement, and tailored strategies to help individuals navigate uncharted territories and reach their full potential. As a parent, preparing my daughter for the Aquathlon involved identifying her strengths and weaknesses, just as I do with my financial advisors. Understanding her unique abilities allowed me to customize a training plan that accentuated her strengths while addressing areas that needed improvement. Similarly, in the professional context, recognizing the distinct skill sets and potential of each of my advisor enabled me to create personalized development plans tailored to their career goals. Consistent communication was crucial in both situations. Just as I engaged in open conversations with my daughter about her fears and expectations for the race, I maintained transparent and regular communication with my financial advisors. This fostered a trusting environment where concerns could be addressed, feedback shared, and progress monitored. Setting realistic goals played a pivotal role in both mentoring scenarios. Just as I guided my daughter to set achievable milestones leading up to the Aquathlon, I encouraged my financial advisors to establish measurable objectives for their professional growth. This approach allowed for a step-by-step progression, building confidence and competence. Moreover, the importance of resilience and adaptability emerged as a common thread. In the face of setbacks, my daughter and financial advisors needed to learn to adapt their strategies. Whether it was adjusting training routines or re-evaluating financial plans, the ability to bounce back and refine approaches was the key. Ultimately, witnessing my daughter cross the Aquathlon finish line and observing my financial advisors achieve their professional milestones brought immense satisfaction. The shared principles of individualized guidance, effective communication, goal-setting, and resilience underscored the universality of effective mentoring, whether in the context of athletic endeavors or professional development. #lifebydesign #professionaldevelopment #financialadvisor #riseabovemediocrity

Ever find yourself staring at a challenge, feeling like you've hit a wall? Maybe it's a project that seems impossible, or a creative block that's draining your team's energy. But what if the solution isn't just about the task itself, but about how you approach it? This week, Samtaler (The Social Value Agency) experienced a game-changing moment with Winning Scotland Growth Mindset training. It was truly transformative! The team did an incredible job equipping us with tools and strategies to develop a more resilient, ambitious, and adaptable approach to personal and professional growth. We learned that our mindset, the way we approach challenges and view our capabilities, plays a huge role in success. It was a fantastic experience that left our entire team feeling motivated and equipped to tackle challenges head-on. The training instilled a culture of embracing setbacks as learning opportunities, just like Andy Murray's journey to Wimbledon glory or WD-40's 39 failed attempts before finding the perfect formula. This shift in perspective is exactly what businesses and individuals need to thrive in today's ever-changing corporate landscape and view challenges as opportunities for learning and growth. We highly recommend this program to any organisation looking to unlock their team's full potential - an essential tool to running a business effectively. 🌟 Celebrating a Great Day at the Pat Duffy Coaching Excellence Conference! 🌟 This week, I had the honour of participating in the Pat Duffy Coaching Excellence Conference at Leeds Beckett University. I shared the stage with Andrew Clark (GLL) and Navjeet Sira (The Change Foundation) in a session facilitated by Jay North. Our session, titled ‘Emerging Opportunities’ (Operators & Sport for Development), was a powerful reminder of the evolving landscape of sports and physical activity. 🎉⚽🏀🏋️♂️ My Key Takeaways: 1️⃣ Value Recognition - Coaching is crucial, and its impact must be highlighted and appreciated. 2️⃣ Support Systems - We must develop robust support mechanisms for coaches to thrive. 3️⃣ Future Impact - Our goal is to ensure coaching evolves positively over the long term, envisioning a significantly different landscape by 2057 compared to 1991 and 2024. During my presentation, I emphasised that doing great things requires making bold decisions, embracing discomfort, and taking risks. One key message from the event was that egos and opinions must be set aside for more detailed, meaningful discussions. Reflecting on this day, I'm reminded of a powerful quote by John Wooden: "Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out." I talked about how important it is to help coaches do a great job by focusing on the why and not just the what! My journey with Danny Melling reminded me that we must be brave and make big decisions to improve things for everyone, and sport is the perfect tool and vehicle to make this happen! Remember, even if things seem tough, we can make the best of them! Thank you to everyone who made the event possible. Together, we can drive substantial and lasting improvements in our sector. Remember to be grateful for what you have and where you are right now - be present. 🌟🙏 #CoachingMatters #SportsLeadership #PhysicalActivity #Innovation #CommunityBuilding #FutureVision

Facilitation Tip #70 Starting in 1973, an annual bike ride occurs across the state of Iowa. Known as RAGBRAI, thousands of people participate each year. In 1980 I was one of those people. I was ill-prepared in so many ways – no helmet, no biking shorts or jersey, no proper training, and I was riding my brother’s ten-speed bike which was too tall for me. The odds were stacked against me but I made it. I did quite a bit of riding that summer on the highway outside of my hometown. That stretch of highway is flat farm land but not all of Iowa is flat. The hills we encountered on RAGBRAI were a painful wake-up call. Suddenly I realized the value of all ten speeds on my brother’s Schwinn. Shifting up and down was necessary to conquer the hills. I learned quickly because when you pedal alongside thousands of riders all tackling the same hills you are forced to figure it out! Facilitation requires a lot of shifting also. A plan that looks great on paper, can start to feel unmanageable once I understand the dynamics of a particular group. An important topic can take more time than anticipated which requires a shift in the rest of the session to make up time. Or sometimes an activity doesn’t click with an audience so a new plan is needed to make an idea stick. Shifting is actually one of the fun parts of facilitation for me. The need to shift keeps me focused and present with the group. My advice is don’t be afraid of shifting away from your original plan. Go where the road takes you. Whether bike riding or facilitating, shift happens! #RAGBRAI #facilitationtips #facilitation #leadership #publicspeaking #ruralhealth #strategicplanning #healthcare
