Some nice ideas here about working in teams and time management. Q: does “shared ownership” refer to shares? I think not: here it refers to shared ownership of responsibility: problems, products, deliverables but not stock. Imagine if a shared ownership team adds measurable tangible value to a corporation. Why shouldn’t ownership of that corporate growth be assigned to the team as well? New shares could be created as the company grows and that team could literally own those shares! Once you personally have generated enough value to the company and economy, and had the credit for that value creation assigned to you, in share holdings, you could retire. And not have to work again. Build up your wealth and get passive income from dividends. Or get paid in direct proportion to the value added, rather than the pro-rata for time served! (Which would reduce dividends for shareholders.) Another thought: the mission here refers to human needs exclusively. Customer. Stake holder etc. They don’t mention the needs of the environment at all!! When they refer to stakeholders are they referring to eg pollinators? Nope! but: They do assign the definition of success to the team! So with this shared ownership model a cross functional team could decide that success equals building a product that balances environmental needs with farmer’s needs. That could generate more sales, if it solves the farmer’s problem of eg controlling pests without zapping pollinators. For example. Interesting. Surrendering the control of a hierarchical bureaucracy to the employees empowers employees to do what matters to them. But then: if a product eg caused cancer would the team share direct responsibility for the harm it caused? Could that team be sent to jail for harming people if they were directly responsible for making a product that killed babies or caused infertility? Or would they have the same immunity from causing social losses that board members have? Hmm. Food for thought!

At the end of week 6 of the step challenge, Space Hoppers have maintained their lead, as they have since week 2. Space Hoppers have 2,782,348 steps, Team Lion are now in second with 2,295,980 steps and Furmidable Feet are currently last with 2,087,248 steps.
